Frith Rair

Main article: Yellow Pages

Name: Frith Rair
Age: 27
Race: Wick, Roek tribe
Place of Origin: Anhau

Backstory:

Frith was born the eldest of four children into a family of hunters and quickly taught how to trap, kill and skin animals as well as how to hold his own in a fight. From an early age his reckless, impetuous nature revealed itself; he would take on animals and opponents far greater than his means or wander too far from the safety of Anhau, something which more often than not led him into danger and seemed indicative of what was to come.

Despite his attitude, however, Frith showed promise as a huntsman and fighter- though his social skills left a lot to be desired, even as a child Frith felt disconnected from the strong tribal bond and its traditions. However, Frith was not without friendships. The greatest of these was found with a pair of strange but magnetic twins, Elahra and Inlé who were part of the extended family of the durg. Frith saw in them the same social awkwardness and restless nature that he himself possessed and the three developed an immensely strong bond.

Rarely out of each other’s company, the love between the three deepened, though the exact nature of the twins feelings towards Frith- whether platonic or romantic seemed to skew leading to a terse rift in the friendship that never quite repaired itself after the onset of puberty. This tension came to a head when an argument arose in their later teenage years. Distraught, Elahra left the other two and wandered too far out into the mists where she was killed by hatchers, the usual fate of one who left the safety of Anhau.

Spurned on by a combined guilt and hatred that seemed to feed on itself, Frith and Inlé turned their attentions to the hatchers, urging the durg to send out men to kill them, claiming it was for the 'protection' of the tribe. The durg of course refused- it was not hard to see that reason had given way to passion within the two young boys and obviously the hatchers were no simple bear or boar to be hunted.

However, the young men were given some fleeting, half hearted words of support from a few other tribe members which their foolish minds took as an allegiance. Angry, desperate and full of grief as they were, Inlé in particular, the two came up with some half baked idea to install Inlé in a greater position of power. For a time, this plot seemed to be no real danger to the Roek tribe until Inlé, frustrated and lost without his twin, his other part, tried to kill the durg.

It was apparent to all involved that the boys had to be made an example of as this kind of behavior was simply unheard of in Anhau and must be discouraged at all cost for the sake of harmony. Inlé and Frith were exiled to the beggar flats where they spent their formative years in silence, scraping around in the dirt. Frith’s ten year exile is now drawing to a close.

Personality:

Even before the his exile and the death on Elahra, Frith had begun to feel there was no place for him in Anhau and he can often seem disconnected. As a young man, however, he was passionate to a fault, quick to love, to hate and to jump into difficult situations without any thought. During his time in the flats, Frith spirits were not broken so much as becoming dormant, though he is a shadow of the boy he once was, refusing to look people in the eye, keeping his mouth shut, hoping that he will be accepted back into the Roek tribe without hostility.

Physical Description:

The heat of the flats has made his skin very tan, he is very muscular- remnants from his huntsman days and hard work in the flats but undernourished and a good deal shorter than the most men. The noble gladori features of his face are apparent in his long, straightnose and the narrow chin hidden behind the full beard that he cultivated in the flats. His hair is wavy and dark, coming to just below his jawline and his dark brown eyes, though usually flat and emotionless can spark with fiery passion under the right circumstances.

Frith Rair believes that he wants to disassociate himself from the mistakes of his past and to become a functioning member of society once more.
