Everspell

Main article: Magic

An Everspell is the most difficult and longest-lasting form a spell can take. Everspells do not literally last forever; it is not currently known how long they last, but the longest-running Everspell has lasted over a thousand years to date. These spells are quite powerful, and withstand every attempt to undo them.

To cast an Everspell is no light matter. On average, over a hundred galdori must speak in chorus for an Everspell to be cast successfully. There are any number of risks, as the recitation must be perfect. For this reason, Everspells are rarely used.

The primary use of an Everspell is to grant or deny access to a place based on an individual's magical genes. Everspells are also used to maintain constructs; an Everspell currently in effect by the University of Brunnhold, for example, runs the large clock over the main gate.
