Name: Gelidus Siccus a.k.a. "Sic" (The White Dragoon)
Age: 54
Race: galdori
Place of Origin: Vienda
Backstory:
Gelidus lived a relatively normal life in his early years. His typically magical parents sent him to be tutored in the Brunnhold University at the age of 10, just like everybody else. No special training with magic was to be had before this age, and the thought to experiment in secret never once crossed his mind. Thus, his first ever experience was magic was correctly assumed to be within the controlled classrooms of the university, and having no experience beforehand, was falsely assumed to be of average proportions. His parents began planning his future career based on these assumptions, and everything was apparently going according to plan. They left Gelidus completely on his own, and would go on to share no contact with him until he graduated. It came as a big shock to them, then, when 10 years later, they discovered Gelidus had joined the Anaxi Military under his own free will. How could this be? They thought. He was only a normal boy after all.
That, was where their assumptions was wrong. Gelidus was not a normal schoolboy, but instead had a strangely strong connection wtih the mona. Upon his initiation test to the university, he had first felt the touch of the mona and had grown attached to it. Wanting to use it more and more. He found out just how wonderful the world of magic was in his first class, from his first real spell, and grew addicted and obsessed by it, almost like a drug. From then, he devoted his life to intense study, to countless years of practice, and to countless amounts of petty magical duels. It all paid off, and within just a few years, he had mastered level 1 to a degree where his tutors could have graduated there and then. As a result of this, his mind grew exceptionally sharp, and he acquired something many men seek. He acquired wisdom. However, due to his many years with his nose in the gromoires of the school library, his body did not develop on the same level as the classmates around him, leaving him even more physically frail than most galdor. When his 10 years of education were over, Gelidus desperately sought to better himself, and hastily joined the Anaxi Military. A dangerous move at best, but his obsession demanded more than just books, it demanded something more, it demanded a true to life test. He was accepted into the Military based on a personal recommendation acquired from one of his tutors and given the initiation test that all recruits were given. It involved a simple physical, mental and magical exercise, and then was followed up by routine training.
Despite his efforts, Gelidus' physical test results were, quite frankly, pathetic, and he was at great risk of being turned away at that moment. But what was written in the recommendation were words detailing his extremely high mental and magical capability, and thus, the tests kept coming. When it came to the mental test, they were overwhelmed by his incredible sense of justice, and his extremely logical thought process. These particular traits were also seen in his magical test, which he passed with the utmost perfection. Upon seeing that even someone such as Gelidus could have some use in the military, he was accepted and quickly ushered into training, with the majority of his time spent undergoing training for his magical control.
After 10 years or so of regular service, he was shipped directly to Mugroba, where he would serve several more years as a peacekeeper and giving assistance to a country plagued with illness and death. It was there that he made a true name for himself among the ranks, and it was there where he built his solid reputation as an exceptional caster, healing and curing many in his service. As time went on, his general told him of a special branch of the military, named the Dragoons. He quickly accepted the offer to join upon being promised access to uncountable gromoires and as much time as he desired to better his skills. There seemed to be no drawbacks to his decision to join. He was given the title of the White Dragoon, the Knight of Cold, and was also made the standard bearer to the Dragoons. He accepted the White mask gratefully, and enjoyed many years of what he thought was just service, important missions and tactical destruction. However. He was tricked. Tricked into thinking that the Dragoons actions were just, lawful. When in truth, they were being used as merciless killers, sent to slaughter innocent villages and defenceless supply chains, aiming to cut out key parts of the country to nullify the spread of the plague. These methods made Gelidus Sic, along with many other Dragoons, and after a mere 7 years, the group was disbanded. Each dragoon going their seperate ways, with some going back to join the Seventen; Gelidus included.
Gelidus now works under the Seventen, and has learnt his lesson not to go wandering in search of more power now. The things he did with the Dragoons haunt him even to this day, and he now strives to share his words of wisdom with the younger members of the Seventen. Despite all this, he is still widely known as the White Dragoon, and is still reknown for his magical abilities. Though there are a few who see his abilities as less of a talent, and more of a challenge..
Personality:
Quiet and self reserved, he speaks only when needed. His words always hold meaning, and almost always speak true. His peers considered him "wise", and this only grew with age. He is often seen sat idly with his nose buried in a book or grimoire, and has a habit of casting spells where there is no need, just to better his connection with the mona. He has an overwhelming sense of justice, and will even go so far as to refuse orders if he considers them irrational, or injust. The only thing keeping him within the ranks of the Seventen are his magical abilities, and he is hated by many purely because of his attitude. He has a calm, logical thought process, and very rarely enters into a fight. He holds no prejudice against any of the races, and will even let a human go free if they can justify their actions. In a fight, he makes complete use of his hold over the mona coupled with his own wit and logic, and chooses to make rapid-fire casts and long chains of spells, each complimenting the other.
Physical Description:
Gelidus stands of average height, though slightly hunched, a trait aquired through years of huddling over various books and grimoires. His figure is extremely frail, and he could be overpowered easily by most regular members of every race. His hair is already white from age, a compliment to his title, and his wrinkled face holds a trimmed white beard.
