Dorhaven Massacre
Main article: Dorhaven
The Dorhaven Massacre was an event that took place on Intas 4th, 2712. In the town of Dorhaven, an explosion destroyed a tenement building. Although the details of the event are sketchy, it was confirmed that a group of galdori were involved and that there were thirty-nine human and wick deaths.
What Happened
Two sides to the story have become "common knowledge" to their respective social groups. The galdori believe that a passive's diablerie went off, accidentally destroying the building, and that a group of galdori were only tangentially involved. Meanwhile, the humans and wicks believe that the group of galdori intentionally destroyed the building as an act of cruelty or terrorism. Moderates tend to believe a modified version of both stories, that the galdori were tormenting the passive and his diablerie accidentally destroyed the tenement house.
Rammifications
The Dorhaven massacre immediately led to increased resistance activity and membership. Jon Serro used the massacre to his advantage to spur hatred against the galdori.
In Brunnhold, the "Dorhaven incident" caused widespread worry about the strength and potential destruction a passive's diablerie could have. The destructive power of the diablerie was known prior to the incident, but the events of Dorhaven brought it into public awareness. Because of this, Professor Harper Moore and Professor Castor Devlin have faced increased scrutiny about the subject of their research.
The Yellow Eye tribe, which had been living in Dorhaven for some time, moved from the town to Vienda immediately following the accident.
