Thread Types

<< OOC Etiquette | Player Information | Timestamps >>

This is a list of the types of roleplay threads, their abbreviations, and their purposes.

Open Thread (O)

  • A thread started by a player where any other players are welcome to come into the thread and participate. These threads can be set anywhere, and can be part of a storyline or simply plot tinder. You might be able to threadjack if the thread does not have a set storyline, but be careful about doing this.

Public Thread (P)

  • The median between R and O threads: a thread created in a public place for a specific group of people. Access to the thread is not restricted, but keep in mind that the thread is probably part of a storyline. In order to participate, you must stick to the topic and respect the ongoing story in the thread. Threadjacking is forbidden. It is good to ask permission to join these types of threads, but it's not necessary.

Restricted Entry Thread (R)

  • A thread set in a private location for a specific group of players. (A private location is a location that other players are extremely unlikely to stumble upon, such as a residence or a secret meeting spot.) Players who are invited in the thread should be listed in the thread title or somewhere in the first post. (Note: if there are many people invited to the thread, please list them in the post, not the title.) You may also refer to groups of people, for example "Circus Group" or "Cutlass Crew".

Literature Thread (L)

  • A thread that consists of a single, lengthy post that serves as standalone literature, intended to enhance a storyline, show your character alone, or describe a past event. Within a lit thread, you should not control the actions or dialogue of any player character other than your own, but you may control greenshirts of your own invention, or collaborate with another player to write a joint literature thread. As the author, you are allowed to post multiple lits in a single thread if they are related by character, subject or theme. Readers should not respond to a Literature thread IC, but may respond OOC with comments or questions for the author.

Adult Thread (Adult)

  • A thread that contains explicit sexual content. You MUST put (Adult) in the thread title. If a thread becomes adult, please edit the title.
