Littimer Adren

Name: Littimer Adren
Age: 39
Race: passive
Place of Origin: Muffey, Anaxas

Backstory:

Born into the relatively low-status Adren family, Littimer spent the first ten years of his life being carefully prepped to excel in the galdori initiation test. The Adrens poured their entire savings into a medley of tutors who claimed knowledge of certain meditative techniques that would increase a student's score, all in the belief that their son’s eventual success would raise their own social standing. Unfortunately, this would be for naught.

Littimer was fully aware of the pressure riding on him that day, and took three tries just to correctly read the chosen spell aloud to his proctor. As the professor read the results, his face shifted from sympathetic concern to that of disgust. Littimer was led out of the room by two administrators as his pathetic score of 0.4 was read aloud to his peers, a reminder of their own genetic superiority.

His parents quickly sold him into indentured servitude as a butler to one of Brunnhold’s professors. Their son, their ticket to success, had proven to be a scrap. This was the best method to cut their losses and recoup some of that investment. Littimer has never seen them since.

27 years passed, as he served as butler to Professor Martinale, one of the school’s foremost experts in law, and a devout follower of High Judge Azmus’ approach to the field. Littimer was treated terribly, both physically as well as emotionally. Not content with subjecting his butler to working before sunrise and after sunset, he also used him as a point of humiliation in his lectures. Even galdori who were opposed to the ideals of the SPE felt pity for him, and perhaps it was with this motivation that upon Martinale’s death, Littimer was granted his petition of freedom to leave the university.

Not much is known about the two years after, but Littimer has recently settled in the Dives of Vienda. Now relying on a cane, he has begun to discretely inquire about the local taverns if there is a need within the human community for a schoolteacher.

Personality:

Littimer, due to his past, comes off as quite solemn and stolid at first glance. Beneath this cold exterior, however, exists a caring and warm individual. Between his experience reading the legal arguments of some of galdori society’s greatest cases, and his exposure to the many debates Martinale put his students through, Littimer has gained a sophisticated grasp of rhetorical technique, a sadly negative trait given his station. In the past, this has inadvertently drawn attention to him from groups such as the Seventen, which may explain his apparent need for a cane these days.

Due to the horrid conditions he has lived through, Littimer possesses an iron will. He has no tolerance for weakness, and in his struggle to withstand Professor Martinale’s treatment of him, he may have taken on a few more of the good teacher’s traits than he would like to admit.

Physical Description:

Littimer would stand at 6’2, were it not for his limp. Because he has to shift weight to his cane, he typically only comes up to about 5’11 to 6’0. While his muscle tone is quite developed for a goldori, he appears thin but fit according to human standards. He has grown out his red hair and typically keeps it held back in a ponytail, to prevent it from getting in his pale blue eyes. In an attempt to better fit in with humans and wicks, he has grown out a beard, which comes down along his jaw line before converging to cover his chin and upper lip.

When Littimer speaks, there is a scratchiness to his voice, as if he eternally needs to clear his throat. Some wonder, however, if it is the result of having shouted (or screamed) so much that his voice has begun to give out permanently.

Although his clothing changes day to day, the overall style remains: Neutral earth tones, coupled with long articles of clothing to accentuate his height. Only on the hottest summer days is he seen without his threadbare overcoat, the condition of which may explain how he is able to tolerate it in such heat. In contrast, his cane is well-maintained, with a black wooden body and intricate metal grip of ornamental clockwork.

A small tattoo labeling him as a passive is branded along his inner right forearm, and while there are signs of past attempts to scar the image into obscurity, they have all been unsuccessful.

Goals

For the short term, Littimer would like nothing more than to settle down with a nice tavern that provided a cover and location for his teaching, which would hopefully pay enough to have an enjoyable life. Over the long term, he would like to see the ideas of independent thought and leadership that he has been instilling in the youth of Anaxas germinate into a resistance large enough to overthrow the galdori elite that have brought him such pain.
