She was outraged. Absolutely outraged. It had been a week since the glorious declaration that shoved those disgusting wicks out of her fair city, and her comrades were doing nothing!

Time and again she had seen them turn a blind eye to obvious infractions of the city limits. Time and again they ignored the begging bastards and repugnant performers in the hole-in-the-wall greens and squares. She was practically herding them out in droves, while others seemed to be incapable of caring less about the infractions.

Seeing the fliers for the circus had been enraging enough, but as she wandered the streets on that Intas 30th evening, she saw few signs of life. It seemed everyone had gone to that infernal display of wretched individuals. It was more than she could bear.

She ranted to Chiaro, her superiors, and would rant to any subordinates, had she any. Finally, unable to take it, committed her thoughts to paper.

Alstair Murdoh,

I have found that the current state of affairs is supportive of my beliefs, and yet not aiding our cause. The presence of wicks in the city is intolerable. Not only has the current administration ordered their removal, but it agrees with our aims.

Unfortunately, my coworkers have not deigned to follow their orders as given, but have let this menace slip past time and again. Often deliberately. After the outrageous display last night (a performance of wicks and humans attended by our city's unsuspecting populace just outside our city walls), there is no ignoring the menace.

I will not stand for this. If you still seek my support, I must insist aid in this endeavor.

If we have your support, my sister and I will soon address a select group of our comrades in respect to your request. We will be having a social gathering at which we shall encourage the dissent you have asked us to sow. If you have any special requests for the guest list, please name them that they may be present.

S. V.

Ilithyia Lutgardis,

I have found the current state of affairs unsettling. The oft deliberate ignoring of orders in regard to the wick infestation is atrocious. I must ask that you aid me in this respect that I may help Mr. Murdoh in his. I have noticed the degree with which you respect him, and I understand how important his cause is to you. We would both be doing one another a favor.

Soon, my sister and I will have a social gathering at which we intend to address, cautiously mind you, the movement Mr. Murdoh has induced us to incite. Should you know of anyone who would be a candidate for the effort, or even pliable enough to be useful, let us know so that they may be present.

S. V.

Chiaro insisted on removing her original profanities and rude annotations, but refrained from changing Scuro’s overall tone. The letters were sent, and they would wait for the replies before forming the guest list. The social gathering was Chiaro’s idea, as all such niceties were, but Scuro agreed that they needed supporters. There was too much for them to handle if they didn’t have the support that came in believing numbers.

When Scuro handed the letters over to some rotten, human messenger boy she sighed. Watching him jog down the road, her creased brow unraveled slightly. She was only slightly mollified by the thought of their aid, but was more relaxed with the mental image she had allowed herself: all those blasted wicks driven straight into the river. It was a violent image, but it was no less violent than what her mother had suffered in those riots… The bastards would pay. She was going to rid Anaxas of their pestilence. It was her nearest goal… so close, and yet…

((Only responses to the two letters, please. Any recommended party attendees must be agreed PC's or generic NPC's. Invites will be "sent" after responses are received.))
