Let me open by saying, I am truly suprised by your letter. I've not had corrospondence by mail for a long time, and your penmanship is rather divine. It seems that Brunnhold does hold some more talented students after all.

I must admit, the first paragraph of your letter stunned me. Elope? You are a sweet child, and your concern for me is flattering, but Margol would not let me go so easily, and I know my brother would assist him in finding me. We would be almost fugatives. Scandalous indeed.

Although, the discreditation of Margol is a tempting thought in itself. What a humourous situation. Mister Worthing, I genuinely wish that I could be as free as yourself, and as clever. Your plan is hard to dismiss, therefore, I give you something to think about. If you can think of a way to stop Margol and my brother giving chase, I will give the idea more thought. And believe me when I say, I will also think on it at my end. To topple Margol would be a victory in itself.

That being said, I do not wish to bring too much disgrace to my daughter, so this needs to be thought out carefully. Perhaps also, it should wait till after the wedding, so Margol does not interfere with her assets.
