Submit Wiki Contributions - Information Page
This page is for the submission of ideas for the Vitan Information Page! If you have any ideas about additions to this page, submit them here. We are reviewing all submissions, so keep in mind that your idea might be accepted and might not be. If your contribution is accepted, we will announce it on here. Don't take it personally if your idea isn't adopted into the wiki; we do have space concerns, and only suggestions which we feel would add to the game world in a unique way will be taken, so we have to be picky. Please do not suggest things that already exist in the real world (or are very close to existing things), even if they have a Vitan twist or flavor. Some sections that welcome player suggestions: - Organizations. Small organizations only, please! Feel free to suggest anything, from traveling bands of musicians to secret societies to student clubs. - Bestiary. This section is overflowing, so suggestions for additions to the bestiary MUST be for foreign animals ONLY (otherwise we'd have retcon issues with Anaxas). We will not be adding new beasts unless they are truly unique and add something to the world, rather than just being hybrids of existing earth animals. Please do not suggest 'magical' animals - Vegetation. The plant section! Suggestions for plants will be reviewed based on how unique they are. If your plant does something that an existing plant does just as well or slightly better, it's not going to be included. Please don't bother suggesting narcotic plants. - Diseases. Suggest some horrible diseases. Please provide the following information; name, effects, treatment, rarity and location (where the disease usually occurs), along with any other pertinent info like what ages and races are affected. If you have an idea for a NEW section of the Information page, feel free to suggest one!

Re: Submit Wiki Contributions - Information Page
I have a contribution for the organizations page. They are a mix of secret societies and a student club. I was thinking that each discipline would have a prestigious student club that were known about but not really talked about because the happenings are rarely discussed. What happens inside the clubs are discussions on that disciplines spells, casting and theory. The advanced professor of each discipline would head the club. so it would go like this. Living Magic society's professor: Professor Melles Static Magic society's professor: Professor Mars Physical Magic society's professor: Professor Golightly (Because of the soundwave spell he did) Perceptive Magic society's professor: Professor Devlin (or would it be Freja?) The clubs are each called by their respective discipline then have Magic society after the discipline. At any one time their are probably about 20 or so students in each club. It is a very prestigious position to be in the club. The professor of that club picks the student themselves. THe student usually has promise and other qualities that are expected in an upstanding golly child. There is really only two requirement for being in the club, you have to be a sixth former, because you have no curfew, they meet in the evening but their conversations may go to the wee ours of the morning. The second requirement is that the student is taking the advanced course of that discipline. Most members of these clubs go on to be professors of their disciplines. Not always at Brunnhold though. Some go to Frecks, Thul'amat, or even smaller ones scattered around Vita. Those that don't become professors usually use their magic in their career regularly. There's my idea. I hope it's good and small enough.

Re: Submit Wiki Contributions - Information Page
oh god this doesn't have to be put in the wiki but I like him so much I have to show him off. Terri birds are white with black stripes traveling down their bodies. They are foragers that tend to gather in cities, and eat anything as long as it's in small quantities. They are native to lands between the Knowles and Arova rivers, and few have been known to cross either river. Because of their unique location, south of the Arova it is considered incredibly lucky to spot an Terri bird. North of the Knowles, however, seeing a Terri is unlucky and they are considered bad omens. Strangely enough, large flocks of them have begun to gather near the Knowles.

Re: Submit Wiki Contributions - Information Page
Kind of information? Just a draft of Lady Purity's Sanitaryum... Quote: Although galdori have never been known to actively partake in communal bathing, humans and wicks often find it an economic way of getting clean. There are fewer bathhouses than there were when Vienda was young, but the few that are left are well kept. Most are large, spacious rooms with stone floors and large baths that have built in stone seating areas spaced out for people to sit in.
The largest of these is Lady Purity's Sanitaryum (a name based on Lady Alto's Sanitorium but, according to the owner, 'with three times the laughs'), although it's often just called The Bathhouse by the locals. It boasts two sections, one for men and one for women. Each has two pools (a shallow one, and a deep one), and four shower stalls. Buckets are readily available by the bathhouse attendants for a tally, or you can bring your own.
The water is generally always hot, or at the very least lukewarm. The Sanitaryum is open from dawn to midnight, every day except when it hits the nines.

Re: Submit Wiki Contributions - Information Page
I know that the beasty part of the wiki is overflowing, and i don't know if this could be considered a hybrid or not... but this little critter came up when rping in the chat, and I just had to run with the idea (also we desperately want it to become cannon if we can).
Mugroba Harbor Bats Believed to be distantly related to the hingle, these bats only slightly resemble their cousin. These creatures are migratory and are predominantly seen in Mugroba, but have been known to be sighted in harbors around the world. Roosting together in small colonies or families, the harbor bats are most commonly known to live in the caves on the coast, or 'nesting' in tight, hard to access places like chimney-stacks and attics. They are often shy and elusive, it is rare for someone to catch a glimpse of them unless they are in the area that they roost.
Sharing the same curious eyes and tufted ears as the hingle, their bodies are slimmer and more aerodynamic, along with elongated limbs; a tough lightly haired membrane stretched between the joints and 'fingers' allowing for flight-worthy wings. They also have a tail, but unlike the hingle, are long and slim with only a tuft of hair at the end which has been discovered to be prehensile and also vital for the bats agility during flight.
They are rather intelligent and curious creatures, like the hingle, and sometimes, though it is rare, a young bat will attach itself to something not its mother and live with said creature away from the nest-roost. The strangeness of this kind of action has lead people to doubt the sanity of said creature... coining the term "Bat crazy", "Bat-shit Crazy" or "Bats in the attic" to mean that the person is less than sane.
The Bats are omnivorous, having a wide diet of bugs, fruit and small fish. Although when hunting fish they are often prey themselves. And like their cousin, these bats are also edible... but they are hard to catch and are not considered as much of a delicacy and are difficult to eat. When served roasted on a stick, the meat is sweet and smokey and the wings, salty and crunchy.
(And here's my craptastic scetch from mspaint)

Re: Submit Wiki Contributions - Information Page
an idea that came upon me whilst working on a post - it's basically like Trench Foot and Athlete's Foot merged, which of course is absolutely vomitous.
Sweat Rot – a type of fungal decay that attacks the feet, due to consistent contact with damp, unsanitary water, especially if one’s footwear has been wet for a long time. It can also occur if one does not air out their feet on a regular basis, including after a bath or swimming. This is a common fungus amongst both sailors and soldiers.
The first signs of the disease are ravenously itchy feet, followed by the soles slowly turning a sickly white color; sweat will bead on the surface of the top and bottom of the feet as well. The itch becomes a burning, and layers of skin begin to peel off. Sores appear rapidly if the victim is allowed to scratch, and the foul smell of decay is evident. The toes are the first to lose any feeling, and it spreads to the rest of the feet.
Treatment involves drying the bared feet out in any way possible, usually near a fire. Sprinkle salt liberally over the infected area(s), as it will help to kill the fungus. Keep the victim off their feet and away from any contact with liquids during the treatment. If left untreated, sweat rot will eventually eat away at both flesh and bone, and even in some worst-case scenarios, it will climb up the legs in its decimation of healthy flesh. If this is the case, amputation is the only answer, otherwise the fungus works its way into the upper muscles and internal organs, and death will be immanent.

Re: Submit Wiki Contributions - Information Page
I was working on a post when i came upon this slight problem...
I wanted to talk about a bunch of whice, but i didnt want to call them a flock. Flock is such an overused word, by both birds and sheep and just so mundane that i shudder whenever i come across it. But then i got an idea. See, there are other words that can be used to discribe a 'flock' of birds... for instance a 'murder of crows', a 'brace of duck', a 'loft of pidgeons', a 'parlement of owls', and so on and so on ...
So what we need is a clever, witty word for a bunch of whice. I chatted it up a bit and Aye inspired me. I was contemplating having it be called a 'collage of whice' but it felt a bit... cumbersome and idk, too educated a word for an animal predominantly owned by wicks. I was explaining my choice to Aye, saying that it would work due to the colorful nature of the birds, and that when they were all together they'd look like a bunch of bits of fabric thrown together... like a collage... or a quilt. A quilt would work. Acutally, a quilt would be perfect.
So there ya go. Im not suggesting a whole lot of change, but having a mention about it being a "Quilt of Whice" would be a nice change up from just a regular old 'flock'. A big help to poor fools like me who have to be nit picky about the words we use.
So how about it? Do you think a "Quilt of Whice" will fly?
