 Akhira Brunbarrow
'''Name:''' Akhira Brunbarrow '''Age:''' 25 '''Race:''' wick '''Place of Origin:''' the place of birth is unknown, later she lived in Dorhaven
!!!Backstory: Akhira, as named later by her foster parents, was one of the least fortunate children. She was born unwanted, in a union of galdor woman and human. Of course, her mother couldn’t and even didn’t want to keep her, so she was left with her father and his elderly mother. It is no need to stress that she wasn’t a ‘gift of god’. Taking care of a sick and old woman and now a baby was not a life Akhira’s father imagined.
When she was three years old, her grandmother died and father decided to leave Anaxas in search for a better life. Although he hadn’t shown much affection to her, Akhira was lively and chatty child who took interest in everything movable, colourful and loud, almost like she was protesting to her father’s ignorance.
One of their stops was Dorhaven when her father took a temporary job of a carpenter. Sometimes neighbour women helped him and took care of Akhira but for most of the time he was on his own. Cursing the name of his former lover he grew tired of constantly watching over his child and at the same time doing his job. And one day, when he wasn’t paying attention to his daughter, she just wandered off into Wraithwine Wood, following the sounds she found so enchanting.
Yes, they searched for her, but without her father. He was gone as soon as he realized that people were suspecting he got rid of his daughter personally. It was no mystery that he didn’t love her as father should love his children.
So, what happened to Akhira? She got lost deeply in the forest. Hungry, tired and scared she began to cry and her wailing got an attention of a female wolf that has recently lost her litter. Akhira lived with the wolf for seven years, at first as her pup and then as a companion.
Despite the years of living with her, Akhira didn’t forget how to walk on two, although on four was much easier. Her lively nature calmed down and she learned how to move quietly and how to hide. From time to time she crossed a path with Aerra, who took an interest in lost human child. That was how Akhira learned some basics of Monite and from then on it was easier and easier to hide or climb on trees. Taking this as a challenge, Akhira started to practise this through game, like hiding from her wolf mother or stalking a prey with her, searching for bird's nests and so on.
With time, Akhira felt quite attached to those 'shiney' beings, seeking their company as often as she could. Their presence itslef made her calmer and more like a part of the forest. It was exciting to know, almost feel, that there was life and energy in everything. She also learned to respect the nature and its beings as she knew that she learned she was nothing more than just a part of it and not above the rest.
At the age of ten, Akhira was, due to her curiosity, found by a human, named Mort Brunbarrow and she was taken back to Dorhaven. The following years were the toughest era of her life. Not because she was unloved or abused, just contrary; Mort and his wife Bella took her for their own daughter, named her Akhira and gave her everything she needed, of course in limits of their financial capability. It was hard for her becaus she had to learn the ways of human again. She had to speak a lot more than she was used to, she was forced to walk on two and she was forced to dress, not to mention learning of writing and reading. No matter how her foster parents tried, Akhira never accepted their gods. The only thing she believed in were spirits. So, being faithless didn't help her with socialisation either.
Nevertheless, with years she ajusted to the life in Dorhaven, although she had the urge to return to her wolf mother and the aerra, but they forbade her to return in the Wood. The Brunbarrows didn't want to lose her.
When she was around sixteen years old, Bella Brunbarrow started to learn her how to sew. This also took a lot of time, because she had to stare at the same piece of cloth, doing the same moves with needle, and most of all, sitting still and not being allowed of going somewhere else. Akhira was in her late twenties when she finally made a decent looking dress.
It was no mystery that she was a wick, when she was still frenquetly using her ability of hiding, in human settlement probably even more than in the woods, and most of all, her eyes were also pretty unusual. So, her foster parents thought that it would be maybe good to find a wick teacher for her and expand her abilities.
Despite her limited speech ability and difficulties with writing, she decided to go to Vienda on her own and find a teacher, as it was also her own wish to learn more about her inner power.
!!!Personality: Extremely calm and quiet, almost impossible to anger. Akhira measures her every step as if the next one would be her downfall. She appears to be cold and apathetic, although she is capable of loving someone. Her trust needs to be gained and if betrayed there’s no way to earn it back. But those special to her have her full loyalty and support and she would do nothing to harm them; this is a part of her wolf mother’s teachings.
She rarely smiles, but when she does, her smile is quiet, almost insignificant. She also rarely relaxes and is alert most of the time. An eye contact presents a great problem to her and she is unable to hold it longer than only few seconds before looking away. The same goes for physical contact.
Although she was in the wilderness for seven years, she is intelligent and fast learner. The problem is that if she doesn’t want to do something, she won’t do it and period. In those cases she shuts herself in a mental box. That’s why the adaptation to human way of life took so long. She’s also very much in touch with nature.
!!!Physical Description: Akhira is small and lithe, her skin is olive-toned but paler than usually. She has long and strong legs, used to run and climbing, and quite strong arms. Not manly strong, but enough for her to climb up the tree fast and without problems.
Her face is oval, with sharp features. Just by looking at her you knew she wasn’t for jokes. Her lips are full, but usually drawn in a thin line, showing that she’s not comfortable with living with humans.
Her eyes are bright yellow and hair is long and black, either tied back in a ponytail or loose. Either way, there are always few long strands that hang over her eyes.
Her body has many different scars she has gained while living in the Wood.
Although clothes still present her an unnecessary burden, she wears common anaxsi clothing, usually in darker colours. !!!Inventory:
Weapons: - a dagger
Stuff: - clothes - a bag - money - needle, thread and old fabric
!!!Career She considers herself a student, but she’s a dressmaker if needed to be. Her foster mother taught her to be a dressmaker so she could at least temporary find a job. *sewing *survival *being unnoticeable
!!!Goals She wants to find someone who would learn her spells. Survive and someday maybe return to Wraithwine Wood; her goals are actually pretty limited.

 Re: Akhira Brunbarrow
Hi Ariel Your sheet is quite good, very well-written with an interesting style. I really love feral children, so this is an exciting character prospect to see in Thorns. She would be very challenging to play. Having done a lot of research on feral children, I noticed that the main thing they all have in common was that none of them have ever fully acclimated to civilized life after their feral days. You've picked the right ages for having been lost and found; having her found before the onset of puberty means that language acquisition is still possible, but it would probably be a little idiosyncratic even into her adult years. You could work some of that into play, it might be interesting. The personality quirks you mentioned are very good, very much in keeping with a feral child - not smiling and an inability to feel "traditional" love, for example. Coolness and calmness could be easily attributed to influence from the mythic beasts in Wraithwine. One thing that does need to be tweaked - the Aerra do (rarely) interact with people, but they don't speak Estuan. They communicate through the mona. However, since she was found before the end of her critical period, it wouldn't really matter...I've read accounts of feral children that learned language in as little as 2 years. If you're going to have her interacting with the Aerra, it would give you a lot of unique things you aren't really taking advantage of in the sheet. She'd have a much closer relationship with the mona, for one. The Aerra are very standoffish, like all the mythic beasts, but I can see that they would be kind enough benefactors to take notice of an abandoned child. If they had impacted her life in that way, she might miss them in her new life, or find the company of other humanoids less than stimulating. She'd have a unique outlook on life and the struggle between the races. I think it would give her a lot more depth if you explored that a bit more in the sheet. (Why does she still have bruises from the woods? Maybe scars, I don't know of permanent bruises, hehe.) Sorry for writing so much I only do it when I really like a sheet!

This reads and feels much better, I think. You're approved. I can't wait to see what you do with her!
