(H10 Late afternoon The Clockwork Stag) Job Hunting
Alexander stood outside of the Clockwork Stag, debating on if he should enter or not. He had seen the bartender about before, he was a huge man, he probably needed very little help running his bar. A few people entered the bar and Alexander decided with finality, he would go in and ask around, he needed the job, needed the money, and needed to figure out if these rumors were true. They had been occupying a lot of his thoughts lately, the off chance that there might actually be a resistance forming somewhere excited him, the people he had overheard stregethened his suspicions, but he needed to know more, and drunk people talked too much. Working in a bar was perfect. He entered.
The Bar was much different then he expected, it was actually...nice in a way. It felt warm, friendly, and maybe a place he could get used to visiting, if he could get a job here, he would. It was nice. Alexander stood at the door way though, observing his surrondings, hoping perhaps somebody would notice him, talk to him. It wasn't that he was afraid of the crowd no, but rather, he didn't want to make a wrong move, make a mistake, that could cost him. He looked over the crowd. Someone would talk to him, or maybe he would talk to them. He moved away from the entry way and began to walk around rather aimlessly, observing if anyone looked interested in striking up a conversation, and trying to figure out exactly how to word his request to the bartender. He never was very good at asking for things, he just usually took them. A small smile came across his face as he remembered his first theft, and how close he came to being caught, but he would never have to worry about that again, that is, if he could find a job. Maybe at the least he would get pointed in a more definite direction. He sighed and walked over to the bartender and looked him in his eye. "Say, you wouldn't happen to need another hand around her would ya? I just need a little something to do, times are clockin' hard" Alexander crossed his arms "So whaddya say, do ya have anything?"

OOC: I'm actually hoping he doesn't get this job. I'm just trying to RP him correctly O-O

The question took Gannon by complete surprise, and his fierce frown--though nothing more than confusion--made a few of the customers at the bar skirt away from Alexander.

If this scrawny youngster had done something wrong, they'd rather see his nose smashed in and keep out of the crossfire.

In truth, Gannon's nerves were still rattling from the previous night and such unexpected things made him wary.

Nerves asside, Gannon looked the lad over, eyebrows lifing as he poured up another drink for someone.

"My taxes raised this month," he rumbled slowly, "I don't know if I'd be able to afford to take you on right now..." This was a complete lie, but he didn't need anyone who only half-wanted the job. It was Gannon's kind way of saying: "Try harder, stupid."

Alexander was rather taken aback by the sudden frown, afraid that he had down something increadbly offensive, and the customers that suddenly got away from him stregthened his belief that he had screwed up, but he tried not to show it, this man looked as if he wouldn't hesistate to smash Alexander's face in, and he knew that he could without trying.

Alexander nodded at this statement. Although he never had to pay taxes for lack of a job, he had overheard people complaining about the horrible taxing by the galdori. "That seems to be something the gollies like doing eh?" Alexander stopped for a moment and looked away thinking. Surely this man had some friends? Although with the response that his question elicited made him think that even that could be false. "Do ya got any friends who might need my help?" Alexander watched the man pour drinks and wrinkled his nose at the alcohol, thinking of his brother. He thought about it for a moment, maybe working at a bar wouldn't be the best idea. Ever since his brother passed away, he had a dislike for alcohol.
And drunks.

It was true. Gannon Oranos was not a man of many friends. Good acquaintances maybe. Maybe. If you paid a few people...and gave them free drinks. Maybe. You could ask nicely and that might help. Maybe.

But, that aside, Gannon didn't have any friends that he would send this little runt too. Gannon didn't have any good acquaintances he would send Alex to.

Something of a sly grin crossed his mind as he considered sending him to Floretta. As a prank. Though, the idea was cast off when he considered the Sour Face he would get next time he saw her. The Sour Face could last for weeks. It was also often followed by the Lecturing and the Eye.

After a moment, the drink he was pouring came to rest in the hands of that whom it was intended for. Though, Gannon had to extend his arm out quite a ways and his shoulder near felt to snap in two. He winced and mentally cursed Caiaphas.

Caiaphas.

This time, the sly grin permeated the barriers of his mind and spread across his features. Gannon didn't have any friends he could send the runt too...but enemies? Yes sir. Certainly had one of those.

"Actually, lad," Gannon hid his grin and turned back to the young passive. "I do know of a person who could use yer help..."
