!!!Backstory:

Vespera or, as she is often called, Vesper, was a child predicted to be just like the dwindling numbers of galdori children. A promising and beautiful future a head of her with constant attention and power at each tiny fingertip. She would stand out instantly in a crowd because around her there would always be one and she would always be at the center. Like others of her race she would be ridiculed by the myriad of citizens they would grown to adulthood and command to be slaves.

All this is part of Vesper's life, and more.

She grew as her parents priceless child. The only one they had originally planned, but now that they had such success with the first they're having another. They treasured her and cared for her unconditionally until the moment her powers came to light. They wanted nothing more than for her to learn to be a powerful galdori and continue their prestigious lineage. They read her stories of magic and taught her some of the syllables and speech so she would be prepared and intelligent from the get-go. Everything seemed all to perfect, and in some ways it was.

Having passed the test only six months before now, Vesper is incredibly skilled for a child of her age. She showed her first connection to the mona at nine years old, destroying a priceless vase while trying to imitate her mother. She was removed from her parents immediately being secluded to closed off portions of the mansion they resided in to be tutored by underground instructors and those galdori her parents could find to try and teach a child. These lessons, being illegal and dangerous, usually ended poorly until Vesper had reached age 10. After her tenth birthday she casted her first successful spell after nearly killing two of her three teachers throughout the years while practicing Living Magic. In the last two months they had begun to move on to static magic and the first completely successful spell was Hydrosmosis. It was obvious that she was much more skilled in this field than the first and her field showed it. This field allowed her much more flexibility in her lessons.

After a few months of this vigorous training, Vesper became fierce and spiteful. Her parent's sudden and complete neglect was unbearable and so she took it out on her tutors. Of the original three teachers, only one remained to continue her as others came and went. There were many times when it was only Vesper and her final tutor fighting, but most often Vesper would end up giving in and leaning on this tutor for help and guidance in life as well as magic.

Not only did her attitude become fierce, but her wit and intelligence became quite bloodthirsty as well. However, it was only used on those she found worthy. Her judgments, as is with the majority of her race, were swift and relentless. They spread to her own kind as well as wick and humankind, creatures she had never seen in person before age ten.

Time continued to progress and by the time she was prepared for the qualifying examination into the galdori education system, the moment she finished the test she was recognized as a child prodigy. Her affinity for magic was breathtaking and she instantly went from living in complete solitude to being, by her standards, overwhelmingly known.

Lady Del, as she now likes to be known, is skilled in Static Magic, and making moderate, but very promising leaps in Physical and Perceptive fields now that she has passed her exam. She is still quite poor in her Living Magic abilities because she can never seem to connect with her subject.

!!!Personality:

Although Vesper is an superb case of her race, and adept at that, she the exact opposite of what a child should be. Spiteful, cold-hearted, and a deep case of perfectionism with a constantly torrid temper she is often frustrated with her lessons, but she always works hard. The young girl can be quite vain but she does not do it because she is obsessed with herself, but because she is just as focused on her image as she is on her magic.

The undeveloped marvel has passed on most social politeness and has problems interacting with any others of her age or really any age at all. Ves often casts Quiet around herself whenever she ventures outside so as not to be disrupted. She is particularly fearful of contact with others who she does not know and often accidentally finds gestures of contact threatening. Her social skills are nearly as under developed as her magical abilities are over developed for her age. She never quite learned how to make friends.

She has completely given up on her parents who are pretty much living their own life completely separate of her own though they take pride in their only child and claim her only because of her abilities. When they are around, her mother fusses over her and brags to whoever will listen and her father remains cold and distant. Her mother is pregnant once again because of their first success and they plan to have a similar routine. Vespera thinks they are vicious for even thinking up such horrible treatment of their children.

Her magic is her life. Its what she relies on and trusts more than humans. She is distant with humans and connects to outside life only with magic. Beyond this her only constant companion and comfort in life is her Osta, Neschume.

!!!Physical Description:

Vesper has retained her childlike softness up to this point and it seems she's getting to be a early bloomer with her skinny figure starting to bloom and boyish features tapering away beneath her long, delicately waved russet hair and sharp feminine eyes. These emerald orbs are her most mature feature at the moments, but she still has a significant amount of growing to do and about as much potential for beauty as her abilities.

She often dresses in fine clothes purchased by her mother. Fashion is just about the only talent she believes her mother has. Mostly she will wear dresses of different styles and always in warm colors that accent her hair, eyes, and skin.

!!!Inventory:

Weapons:
* A meager jeweled dagger she keeps hidden on her at all times. She found it in her home, reportedly belonging to her mother at one point, but she keeps it around because of her constant anxiety in social situations. It makes her feel safer. She does not always carry it with her, but it is possibly around and she is always aware of its location.

Stuff:
* Trinket bracelet given to her by her grandmother, supposedly made of stars and crafted by Alioe, goddess of time, herself by stopping time to pick stars from the sky and then illuminating them with the light of the moon.
* An innumerable amount of books on mona and each listing of level one spells. Her tutor does not allow level two spellbooks into her hands.

!!!Goals

Vesper's entire life has revolved around mona. She has learned of it's origins and every theory that has ever been attributed to it. Having her life so controlled as allowed for very little of her own exploration. Ves has strict personal boundaries and doesn't like to step out of her safety zone. She really has no goals except to continue advancing in her magical learning and to reach level three abilities in her lifetime.

Hi Vespera I like the character's personality a lot; she sounds like she would be very challenging and fun to play.

In regards to magic, 5 is much too young. Any form of magical ability is impossible before (at the very earliest) age 9, when the monic pathways begin to open, and until the tenth year the untrained manifestations of ability are random and uncontrollable. It would be realistic that her parents began testing her at nine, but not before. I like that addition to the story because it shows her parents' personalities in risking so much.

You mention that the tests went poorly, but I'd take it a bit farther.. due to the dangerous nature of meddling with a child's magical development it would be more likely that she would have sustained some injuries during this period. It is also rather unlikely that she would successfully complete any spells, but I'll allow it in an unusual case. It would not be mastery but familiarity with the spells would give her a leg up in school.

Magic typically flourishes at the onset of puberty, so if she is a prodigy it would be more likely that she would be an early bloomer rather than a late bloomer.

Only one more thing - why does she have a weapon? O.o That wouldn't be allowed in the school.

As for the dagger, I put more of an explanation in there this time. She's pretty confident with her magical abilities but she's a bit paranoid of other people. Its kinda like how when you drive you know you can drive but you never know what other people will do. So I felt it would be appropriate.

Ah much better, thank you Two tiny things. If you could change "come of age" to something like "showed first sign of magical skill" or whatever, I'd appreciate it. Coming of age in this situation means her monic pathways would be complete, and that doesn't happen until age 20 or so. Also, the ages are still slightly confusing, you say 9 years old and then "Nearing her eight birthday she casted her first successful spell", I wasn't sure if that was a mistake or not =p
