!!!Backstory

It all started with a dare. As with many things, young Amanda Groppe (then Wisteria Hinglethorp) could not pass up a challenge, and her Brunnhold schoolmates had come up with a doozie--model for the art students in provocative positions. In the nude.

Her acceptance of the dare had shocked her friends, but the surreptitious acclaim the drawings met had shocked her. The illicit pages quickly circulated about the school, and with each pass, they grew in price. By the time they were burned by the Headmaster, the drawings were worth more than a human's yearly salary. It became clear to Amanda that, among other things, an opportunity had arisen.

In the years that followed, the young lady made a small fortune simply by holding still. For this innocuous employment, she was disowned by her family (twice), threatened with various uninspired forms of death (burning: five, stabbing: two) and one creative execution (pecked to death by rapid-fire paper cranes). Contrariwise, she has recieved innumerable proposals of varying degree of acceptability (the predictable: countless times, marriage: ten-ish, fly to Benea and live in a colony of moon-hermits: twice).

As she aged, her popularity dwindled. Spectrographs became the desired medium just as she started to need the idealism of the artists' eye. Her exhibition stopped, not suddenly, but in a slow crawl to the bottom. Amanda disappeared for several decades, during which she is rumored to have been captured by air pirates, trekked to Shotha where she briefly ruled as Queen, and/or gruesomely murdered by a rabid fan for ends that shall remain unmentioned.

The truth is that she merely drifted within Anaxas, bouncing from one small town to the next, not able or willing to settle for long. She tried having a family, but there was a nondescript divorce and the bland father kept the dull fruit that he probably didn't sire. Amanda never mentions this period of her life; it's just too painfully boring.

Now, Mrs. Groppe, as she likes to be called, has returned to performing. Her previously mousy voice at last gained a timbre that matched her shape, and she spent the alimony from the divorce on singing lessons. She is presently the favorite vocalist at the Old Tomcat Club, where many of the older, prestigious galdori of Vienda gather.. unbeknownst to their wives.


!!!Personality

In a word, Amanda Groppe is lively. Even when simply standing, she exudes energy and zest. Many years ago, her verve was studied for a scientist's term paper; oddly, no matter how rigorous the tests were, she did not tire. They were forced to cease experimentation after just one trial, lest science die of exhaustion.

!!!Physical Description

In her early sixties, Amanda is not the ample beauty she once was. Still ample, yes, and still beautiful for her age, indeed. However, crow's feet, marionette lines, and other colorfully-named wrinkles have etched themselves on her gently-sagging features.
