Post Eliorin Aristhos
"'Name:'" Eliorin "Liore" Aristhos
"'Age:'" 12
"'Race:'" galdori
"'Place of Origin:'" Thul Ka, Mugroba

!!!Backstory:

Liore spent her early years in Mugroba as a perfectly adequate galdori child. Her father, a somewhat restless Anaxi, was formerly an explorer, ranging through Vita until meeting her mother in Mugroba and settling down. Both parents had received low scores on the initiation test, and were thrilled when Liore achieved an average score. They proudly sent her to Brunnhold immediately, a change she took largely in stride. Until she got there, at least.

Brunnhold and Anaxas in general was something of a culture shock for Liore. Even in a galdori household, she grew up with a much more relaxed, egalitarian view of other peoples than would be appropriate in Anaxas. As a result, she isn't quite sure what to make of the abuse of humans and "passives" she has found at Brunnhold. After all, she thought, if everyone knows that galdori are above the other races, there should be no need to demonstrate it constantly. She was teased about her coloration and her clothing, even when she tried to fit in. Even after two years at the University, she still feels somewhat out-of-place.

!!!Personality:

In almost everything Liore does, she expends the minimum amount of effort necessary for an acceptable return. She is not rebelliously ill-mannered, nor does she possess exemplary social grace. She performs acceptably in her studies--not poorly, not brilliantly, but acceptably. She is neither anti-social nor exceptionally friendly, put polite in a distant way. Her only apparent passion is reading--she is never without a book, and will read a single title again and again, without boredom. People generally come away from her with the impression that she is a rather lukewarm child.

In reality, Liore doesn't quite see those around her as actual people (as opposed to curious objects), and therefore does not feel that she needs to do what they expect or change to meet their standards. She plays along as much as necessary, then goes back to her books. She can be a bit haughty, especially when she feels that the people around her are being unreasonable. Failure is incredibly frustrating for her, because she has to expend time and energy on meeting these ridiculous standards. She'd never admit it, but she's also a bit lonely, and still finds Anaxas strange compared to her home.

!!!Physical Description:

Liore is on the small side, even for a galdor. Her skin is a medium golden brown, courtesy of her half-Mugrobi heritage. Her eyes are pleasingly almond-shaped, colored black with flecks of golden yellow. Her hair is jet-black, straight, and silky, falling to the small of her back with bangs cut in a razor-straight line just above her eyes. She favors rust, burnt orange, and dusky pink in her dress. Most of her clothing is in the Mugrobi style, though her mother anticipated trouble and arranged for her to have a formal dress in a more acceptable Anaxi style for society occasions.

Liore's short stature forces her to stand as straight and upright as possible, chin held high, if she does not want to have to look upward at absolutely everyone. She has an unconscious tendency to girlishly touch her hands to her face--folding them together with her index fingers touching her lips when thinking, cupping her cheeks when embarrassed, or covering her mouth when she feels she's smiling too broadly, for example.

!!!Inventory:

*School uniform
*Small wardrobe of clothing in Mugrobi style
*One fashionable dress, rarely worn
*Collection of well-worn books, expanding as quickly as her parents send her pocket money, mostly fiction
*Level 1 grimoire

!!!Career:

Student
*Reads quickly at a level beyond her age

!!!Goals:

Liore wants to read everything, everywhere, starting with the school library. Then maybe write some books of her own and read them. Failing that, she might like to be a librarian. Making some friends might also be nice, as long as they're willing to lend her books.

Hi Liore, great sheet, glad to have another young student in the ranks! :)
My only concern is with her nationality. The name you have chosen seems a bit out of place for Mugroba. They generally have short and vowel-centric names, while "Eliorin Aristhos" sounds perfect for Anaxas. Also, for the skin color, Mugrobi skin is very dark, not light. From how you have described Eliorin, I get the impression she is only part Mugrobi.
However, as with all ethnicities, there are always exceptions to the rule. So I'll leave it up to you. Do you want to make Eliorin part-Mugrobi, or are you okay to have her be simply unusual?

Also, I just realized I never uploaded the page on naming conventions, so that's entirely my fault.

Okay, I was wondering if I had missed a page! :) Would making her half-mugrobi explain the name? That would actually help me flesh out who her parents are and where they came from--I'm thinking her father could be an anaxi explorer who eventually settled down with her mother in Mugroba. If that's okay, I'll edit the sheet to that effect.

Oops, I don't know how that "light" snuck in there. I meant for it to be a darker color, kind of a medium bronze-y tone like people have in India. I'll change that.

I think making her half-and-half would explain both the skin tone and the name, so you don't have to change your character. Since Anaxas and Mugroba are right next to each other, there is some intermingling.

I put up a naming conventions page, by the way. Sorry for the mix-up. (It's not complete, but it covers some of the most important countries.)

Those are some pretty dramatic differences. I see why you pointed it out. :)

I made a couple changes in the first paragraph of the bio to flesh out her parents a little. I also changed the "light" skin color to "medium" and noted that she's half-Mugrobi.

It sounds Anaxi. That's why I never mentioned anything to you :P

You're approved, Liore, thanks :) Have fun!

(By the way, are you a returning player or a new one?)

DeviantArt. I stumbled upon your page a long time ago, before the game was running, I think. I was intrigued by the concept art you had done, but I kind of forgot all about it for a while. Then I found it again, and the game was running! And it looked stable! (The past two games I've been in died very quickly.) Hooray! That is my story. ;D

It seems pretty stable so far! And if I ever have to stop running it, I'm sure I can find other people to keep it going.
