Giana walked out of the kint, feeling quite proud of herself. A job! She'd do art and other stuff on the side, but a job! Hopefully Kaia, Jeff, Bill, and Lily, not to mention the babies and whoever else she had in her cart, would get along with the circus animals. And wouldn't mind their owner's attention being drawn away, of course.
She saw Warwick walking toward her, and waved.
"Hey! Did you get it?"

His eyes slid onto her and, for a moment, he was out of focus; his thoughts had wandered, absently, toward what sort of chip Clarabelle was, to leave Winslow so worried about her temper. He'd seen the circus, but had been more distracted by the show than the people. And there'd been quite a few women, in quite a few roles...

"...Clarabelle?" It was the first name out of his mind, and it left poor Warwick blinking, and then grinning and flushing. "Uh, yeah. It went well, I guess. Didn't show him much, but I guess he liked it."

"You did? That's great! Amazing, Warwick. Knew you'd do it! And Clarabelle's the chrove I just met. Wouldn't recommend going in there, myself, as she even growled at me, at first."
On impulse, she gave him a quick hug. Hopefully he wouldn't get too creeped out and hit her or something.
"Congratulations. I just got a job here too," she mumbled a bit shyly, "so it'll be nice to have someone I know, yanno?"

It appeared Warwick was not a hugger. He didn't cringe, or run, or yell, and of course he didn't hit her - but his hands came up, flopped around thoughtlessly behind her, not quite settling against her spine. He was too-still, apparently frozen, halfway-leaning forward until she let go.

Then he pretended it had never happened.

"Uh huh. Well, ye know Calli, yeah? So there's that, too."

Giana had absolutely no inkling of the crazy hand-acrobatics that were going on behind her when she hugged him. She was simply absorbed in the whole thing.
"Oh yeah, you're right! Forgot. Haven't seen her since the fifteenth."

His hands finally settled, gentle but deliberate, about her waist -- eased her back a step away from him. Warwick turned his attention immediately down to resettling the bag at his hip, working fingers through his hair, as if he'd done that for a purpose instead of just needing a little breathing room. "I need te find her, see about lengthening an act, but there's a few days te do that in..."

Giana had let go of him a bit back, although she'd been hovering a bit, unsure. His arms around her waist notified her that, yes, she should probably give the poor guy a bit of room. Sheesh, Gia.
"Sorry," she said, in almost a whisper.
Then, more loudly, hoping to distract from the whole hug thing: "Yeah, I need to go ask Balder about pay, according to that guy."

He'd be fine, comfortable enough, so long as she didn't do it again...he shifted where he stood, one thumb thrust back in the direction he'd come, in a meaningful sort of way. He hadn't even asked about payment; frankly, he wasn't all that worried. They'd keep him fed, at the very least, and they paid for costumes and supplies...

"He's back thattaway? Is Calli that way, ye think?" This time he gestured with his chin, meaningful, back toward Clarabelle's kint.

She moved about six feet away this time. Oh, worst decision ever, that hug. She would have liked it, but whatever. Kovs.
"I'd think so! You were over there last, weren't you? You'll have to show me your audition later if you can. I've never actually seen you perform, yanno. Sorry I left."
And now she was rambling. Great.

"Dze, lots of chances left, just gotta work out the act..." He hesitated, fidgeting where he stood indecisively for a moment, then pointed one hand toward Baldur and the other in the direction he assumed Calli would be found..."I gotta plan, though. So I say ye go ask Baldur about payment, an' I'll see if'n I c'n find some help an' suggestions with costumes, an' I'll se ye later."

She was a little sad to see him go, especially because they'd seen so little of each other what with running around auditioning and getting jobs, meeting people, et cetera...Still, this way she'd see a lot more of him than if she'd just gone back to Dorhaven and he'd gone to...well, wherever. Why didn't she know that? Was that bad? Was it--oh, clock, shut up, Gia.
"Yeah, I'll see ye later. Bye, Warwick."
She waved. Why so much waving today?
She walked toward where they had been before she had left to go follow the animal tamer.
"Excuse me?"

Winslow looked up from his hands, where he had begun rolling another cigarette, sausages done. Balder hadn't seemed to hear Giana, busy scrawling in his notebook. The grey clown squinted at her.

"Yes?"

"Ummm...I just was hired to help out your animal tamer and he told me to ask about pay?"

((Ohhhh, SFSR.))

Winslow chuckled and raised his eyebrows at Balder, licking the cigarette paper.

"Balder! You hear that? Taegan hired this girly to help with the animals. Balder? OI!" He shouted. The balding man jumped and looked at Winslow with confusion.

"What?" The clown gestured at Giana with his chin, turning the ringmasters gaze on her.

"What? Oh..OH! Right, animals. He's happy to have you help? Well, good stuff." He said brightly, returning to his book. Winslow cleared his throat, sticking the tabacco stick in his lips. Balder looked up again.

"Pay Balder." Nodding, Balder looked at Giana.

"Yeh, you get pay. I usually pay out at the end of the day. One tallie a day. Alright?"

"That works! Thank you!"
She'd find Warwick later. He was probably never going to want to see her again, anyway. Maybe go back and see Taegan?
