!!!Backstory:

Jahi was born and raised in the bustling trade port of the Muluku Islands. His family were artisans and merchants that sold ‘the most exotic materials you’ve ever seen’ even though they were quite common things that had a few added shiny things. They could easily drain the pockets of traders from Anaxas. They were very persuasive and often conjured up lavish stories about their merchandise to further reel in foreigners.

Jahi learned well from his family but eventually grew a bit distant from the classic merchant lifestyle. He was a born performer and trickster. He loved to entertain both tradesmen and natives of Muluku. He was fond of theatrics and storytelling, often setting up street-side shows. He’d add song and dance and adapt clever voices to different characters. Along with performing and entertaining he eventually grew fond of being what he’d like to call a “personal entertainer” which consisted of fortune telling in it’s various forms and chance games (always bending the chance towards him of course). Even though there was a minimal chance that his predictions would come true, it was just another avenue for him to go down in the world of performing.

Along with his entertaining he also picked up a few skills in blacksmithing and jewelry making to make little trinkets and accessories to sell or wager. He was very fond of the children of Muluku and often gave them shiny gizmos or coins for successfully winning in his games. Pretty soon he grew tired of the same old crowd and often wagered passage on boats to Anaxas where he traveled about performing and making a name for himself. Like any trickster he occasionally found himself doing less than honest deeds to survive even though he strives to be an honest man.

!!!Personality:

Jahi is a quirky, but warm man. He was raised by a loving family and wanted to extend his experience with the people he meets. Although when times are desperate he does tend to do some things that are commonly frowned upon but it’s all in good intentions. He loves making jokes and acting child like even around the most proper of company. He rarely acted serious as it drew away from his character. He is incredibly fond of kids but doesn’t really strive to have a family. He is a huge flirt with everyone. But it usually doesn’t go past playful banter. He doesn’t have commitment issues but is rather too immature to settle down. He feels that being playful is a necessity of life and that often people are too serious. He’s quick on his feet and more streets smart than book smart. He can usually wiggle his way out of a nasty situation either with his dramatic persona or with innocent trickery (like a game). Money isn’t at the forefront of his mind although he realizes that it is somewhat important to survive.

!!!Physical Description:

Jahi is relatively average in height but is quite skinny and lean. He often looks quite gangly but is quite dexterous and in control of his body. He has very tan skin and bright blue eyes that seem to stand out more due to his darker skin. He has dark brown hair, about shoulder length but usually held in a pony tail, with a few streaks of green and blue. His facial hair is usually trimmed although he does often have a scruffy chin that is a few days past five ‘o’ clock shadow.

Both of his ears are pierced multiple times at has at least one dangling earring. Most are studs or hoops but don’t look gaudy. He also often wears four or five different necklaces. They are all hand made, some from a hemp like material, others are pendants he has made, and others given to him from his family. He has a locket with a note from his little brother that he always wears around his neck and has not taken off for seven years. Along with the various trinkets he has, he also wears two rings: one on his right ring finger and one on his left thumb. The one on his right hand is rather big and is made of gold. It’s tarnished and dirty from constant wear. There is a large emerald like gem placed on it that despite the state of the band remains clean and shimmering. The other ring is a silver band with tribal designs encircling it. When he’s nervous he often fidgets with it.

Jahi’s left arm is completely covered with tattoos down to his wrist. Some are tribal markings, others are figurative but all seem to melt and fit together to create one epic tale. When people ask about them and their meaning his story always changes. He also has a tree going up the left side of his ribcage. It is the simpler of his tattoos.

His clothes consist of a white (although quite dirty) long sleeved shirt and a heavier worn leather vest that ties up the front and sides. It’s a dark maroon color with curvy designs carved along the edges. He wears two belts, one to hold his pants up and the other to hold his weapons and small bags of things. He has a heavy long coat made of thicker padded fabric. It’s a dark green and has some longer coat tails. He often keeps the collar popped and the sleeves fall just above his knuckles (so he can easily hide things). He has a wide brimmed black fedora type hat with a red and white band around it. He often sticks cards or trinkets in band as well as important notes to himself so he won’t forget. When he’s trying to impress someone or when he goes to a proper occasion he places a small fake colorful bird with long blue and green tail feathers where the cards usually sit. He wears form fitting pants that are loose enough to breathe in but not overly baggy. The bottoms of the pants are tucked into this dark brown, dirt stained leather boots that come up to his knees. They fasten with buckles on the sides. Underneath the boots he has bright yellow and blue striped socks that have a few holes in the toes.

!!!Inventory:

Weapons:
*Curved toothed dagger with a black leather wrapped handle. About 6 inches in length. Good for show and the occasional street brawl.
*Straight edge dagger with a heavy ivory like handle. Usually used for cooking and utility work. About 6.5 inches.
*Small folding knife. Easy to throw when chasing rabbits for food.

Stuff:
*Fortune telling items: Crystal Ball, Tarot Cards, Rune Stones, “Palm Reading 101” book.
*Large canvas tarp and twine to set up a makeshift tent if no shelter is available
*Extra shirts and various small accessories. Used as costumes during shows.
*Sewing kit and scrap fabric to repair clothes and costumes.
*Performing materials: Juggling balls, Fire torches, Book of dramatic dialogue, some lavishly decorated masks, small fireworks
*Game items: coins, playing cards, balls, dice, cups, paper

*Collection of hand made jewelry and trinkets to sell or give away
*Materials to make trinkets/jewelry: wire, beads, gems, etc.

*Bag of money. Amount fluctuates depending on the week.


!!!Career

Entertainer/Artisan
*Dramatic actor who is able to conjure up convincing characters on a dime complete with witty and original accents and/or body gestures. Also useful for creating lavish predictions when performing the most accurate fortune telling one has ever seen.
*Singing voice and dancing feet, capable of turning even the most aristocratic head
*Sharp tongue and clever responses to get out of tight situations or to make up a good joke on the spot
*Skilled at fire eating/breathing
*Quick hands for card and slight of hand tricks
*Trinket and jewelry maker, often selling them for some cheap money or giving them to deserving winners of his games or to children who need a smile
*Devilish smile to soften even the coldest of stone hearts.
*Visually pleasing magic that aids in performances or predictions. Rarely used offensively and only used when he feels lazy or in a really tight situation.


!!!Goals

Since he has been raised with such a loving family his ultimate goal is to make somewhere or something that children who don’t have that can go to. Somewhere they can go and become their own person. He’d only have time for that after he has become the most famous performer in Anaxas. Obtaining celebrity status is on top of his list and if changing or helping the lives of people happens at the same time then so be it. If all of those goals are completed (which would be many years off) then perhaps starting a family or returning home would be the next thing to do. He does visit his family occasionally but not as often as he’d like.

Haha thanks. I just kind of sketched him out in like thirty minutes. I felt weird not having one. I'll probably make a better one when I have some spare time. :/ It doesn't do him justice but at least it's something. Hehe.
