"A pirate eh?" Remilo chuckled "Well captain Aye, the most feared pirate in the great ocean, I hope you don't hurt to many innocent people. Pirates are after all notorious for harming others. Good thing I have my poniard here to protect me." He said in a joking manner.

"Or maybe you'll be a good pirate; and people across the land will sing your praise. Pirate Captain Aye, protector of ocean, defender of the innocent, and captain of the seas. It was said that one look from her could send any no good scumbag fleeing for his mother." Remilo said with a wide grin, in full swing of the story. "Once a great monster of the sea, three hundred feet long, with tentacles as thick as tree trunks attacked her vessel, but Captain Aye wouldn't stand for that! No she walked across the deck and socked him. She socked that monster right in the eye, and it fled to the watery depths."

She grinned and flexed her arm as Remilo told her soon to be true stories, imagining all the fun she would have. Aye wondered how famous she would become if she were to punch a monster and scare it off.

"Oes, I'll do all that. All's I'll need is a crew an' a ship, an' a monster o'course." She giggled.

She sighed and looked up at the sky, watching the clouds roll by. The girl wondered if it would rain soon, and how much and for how long. She wondered if the rain was as bad in Dorhaven as in Old Rose, if memory served correctly it never got quite as slippery in Dorhaven. In Old Rose one had to avoid the wooden walkways during storms, or they would slip right into the water if they weren't careful.

She shook her head to clear it, and then thought about piracy again.

"You ever thought about bein' a pirate?" She asked Remilo.

"Some times, when I was a kid, but I never really considered it." Remilo said. "I was always fascinated by magic. Ever since I been a kid I wanted to be a Durg of my own tribe, focused on magic; and we would spread our knowledge of magic across the continent teaching all wicks magic and writing." Remilo was getting more and more exited, talking louder and faster. Until he paused for a moment.

Softly he continued "And then someday we will have a great wick civilization, viewed not as an underclass, but a mighty learned class, capable of just as much as the galdori, and they will be forced to accept us as equals." Remilo had again risen his voice, this time not in excitement, but in a combination of anger and patriotism for his race.

Oh, I got to enthusiastic. She probably thinks I'm a wierdo now." "Eh-he he" he fake laughed "well..."

She stared at him as he spoke, her eyes wide and her mouth slightly open. She wasn’t seeing him though; she was seeing visions of what he was saying. First wicks all low and using no magic, and then gradually becoming stronger and stronger, until they themselves were with the galdori. She had heard of a school for galdori, some brunnhold thing, and she had wondered why wicks hadn’t been able to attend. They could use magic, too. It just happened to be a little bit weaker. Why should they not learn magic? Why hog all the good magic for yourself?

She wrinkled her nose as she thought. Why would the galdori keep it all? Why wouldn’t they want wicks to learn, wouldn’t it be better to teach everyone? She didn’t even consider the fact that they could be scared. If wicks learned galdori magic, they could take control of the galdori. She didn’t think that would happen, she just wanted to learn magic.

When she finally realized she had spaced out, she jerked back to reality and smiled.

"Heh, that sounds nice, kov." She squinted at him. "Also sounds like it'd take many a maw to happen..."

"Yes it will." Remilo said "It might not even be in our life time. But I hope I can see my dream come true before I die. Even if it is what makes me die." He knew that the conversation was becoming to dark for young Aye, and let it fade away like the road to Vienda far in the distance behind them. All was silent except for the sounds of the caravan rolling along and the animals in the distance for quite some time, until the first trees of the Wrathwine Wood passed by. "Aye, we're here."

Aye pursed her lips as he said this. She was wondering if even she herself would see his dream. Would it take so long to happen that she wouldn’t even see it? The girl grew sad for a little bit, before a grin took over her face and she decided she was going to live forever. She would see Remilo's dream, and maybe even he himself would see it happen.

She was broken away from her thoughts as she heard the best words she'd heard all day--



The girl gasped and looked up, taking in the familiar look of her home city. Dorhaven, she was finally here!

She half stood up and jumped forward to lean as close to the city as she could. The girl could hardly wait to get there, what would she do first?! She looked back at Remilo and smiled.

"What're yeh gonna do first?" Maybe she could get ideas from him. First on her mind was food, and next finding family, and finally asking about the circus.
