!!!Backstory

Ghita was born from Martha Stone, a human, and Marious Gildern, a galdori’s, illicit affair. Once Martha had learned that she was pregnant she immediately told Marious who, in shame of what he had done sent her away from Anaxas to live alone in Parhane where she gave birth.

Martha was well liked in Parhane, most of the human's believed that her 'relations' with Marious were non consensual on her part, so when Ghita was born with dark red hair and slightly almond shaped eyes no one brought it up. When Ghita was old enough her mother put her to work around the house. She was clever and quick witted. Her ability to run quickly helped them to catch hingles to breed and sell at market. For her 10th birthday her mother bought her a deck of tarot cards and her mother’s friends gave her a dark red Miraan that she named Yuu. Her job quickly changed from there. From then on whenever her mother went to market she would take her tarot deck and read travelers fortunes, putting on a dramatic show while doing so. She also used Yuu to entertain passerby’s to get them to stop and see what her mother had to offer at her booth. She loves to perform and does so whenever she gets a chance.

When her mother didn't need her in town Ghita was allowed to run off and explore through the market. Most of the time she would immediately go to see if there were any wicks in town. If there were she would likely spend the whole day watching them and trying to learn more about how they acted. It was easy for her to gain the attention and laughter of the wicks. They all enjoyed meeting her and taught her what they could while they were in town, happy to share and pass on their traditions.

Ghita's life pasted quickly and though she had many suitors after her she felt that she could not accept any of them. Her mother was slowly dying. Martha had a growth in her body that the doctors were unable to stop and so Ghita had to stay with her and help to care for her. Eventually she found out that a Gildori would have the magical ability to help cure her. This gave Ghita reason to leave and search for her father.

So by the time she turned 18 she knew that she had learned all that she could from her mother and that included everything about her father, and from the wicks that visited her town. Martha never saw any reason to hide the truth from her daughter and told her that even though Marious had sent them away she bore no hard feelings against the man; how could she since she was still in love with him? Martha knew this was frowned upon so she told no one, save for Ghita. Martha also didn't know if Marious had ever loved her, she didn't think so, but, she was hoping that the man could care about her enough to send medicine that only he (or his kind) could provide.

So with only her fathers name and a location she and Yuu set off in search of him.

!!!Personality

Though she doesn’t seem to care about what’s going on around her and seems clueless most of the time she is actually quite quiet and calculative. She’s normally always watching everything and what she can’t see Ori can, he travels through crowds behind or ahead of her to keep a look out. She thinks first and acts later.

Though once she begins dancing or performing, all that changes. She becomes wild and extravagant in her movements and actions. She lets everything flow into her act loving the way she gets stares and applause once she is done.

Ghita will fight for those she loves and is surprisingly good at it and even though she normally chooses not to fight sometimes her actions decide that factor for her.


!!!Physical Description

Though she lived with humans every now and then a wick or a caravan would pass through her town. This allowed her to not only see how her own kind dressed but, how they acted and spoke as well. Once she was old enough she talked her mother into helping her to dress more like other wicks because she quickly became fascinated with them, this was only made stronger due to the fact that she lived with humans.

Her hair was once a dark red but she quickly dyed it when she had the chance, so it is now stark white with streaks of every color she could get her hands on. She tends to add colors whenever she gets the chance. Her waist length hair is pulled into a long ponytail held together by a strap of leather at the base of her neck, when she performs she unties it and lets it hang about her face giving her a haunting look.

Her skin is tan and tattoos cover at least 80% of her body, most of them she had done herself. She also has many piercings in her ears and even two on the opposite sides of her bottom lip. She wears little makeup even when performing. Her eyes are slightly almond shaped due to her father but are the normal hazel color that most wicks have.

She wears whatever clothing she can find though she has a special outfit that her and her mother sewed before she left on her search. She tends to lean towards the human style because it was what she grew up with though, she never wears shoes. Her mother mentioned that it was just like her father.

Her secondary goals are to help her mother. She sends home all the money that she is able to help her mother to keep up her simple life.

Just a few questions on your character sheet ... If Ghita was raised in a human community, why or how did she being dressing like a spoke? While her mother didn't hide her mixed heritage, who influenced her to act more like a wick and less like a human, considering all of her peers were humans? Were there some wicks in her town or wicks that passed through town? How'd she learn to dance and perform?

Just a few things you might want to flesh out in your background, considering her physical description and skills imply more of a spoke life than a tsat one with humans. You're well on your way towards approval!

None of the magical races (wicks and galdori) can use magic before the age of ten. Their bodies are not developed enough.


Is "Ori" taken from "galdori?" If so, it's kind of like naming a dog "man." It would be a nonsensical name that most people would not make the connection to the possible racial reference at all. It might be best to choose a more name-like name.


The age of maturity in Vita is a lot younger than in our modern times, especially among humans and wicks. In Hesse, by the time Ghita reached 18, she'd have suitors and be expected to marry. Because of this, you need an explanation as to why she's still living with her mother. Being a wick among humans may be something to draw from in your explanation.


It is very highly unlikely that a human would have absolutely no hard feelings toward the galdori man. A human would know the deep racial divisions between galdori and humans. An illicit affair between the two races would more likely be motivated by sex and not love. If her parents were really in love, it needs to be mentioned in your sheet.

Ghita's mother would be scorned and looked down upon by other humans for the affair, especially because of the wick child. There is an article in the wiki under Culture > Viewpoints that points out how both galdori and humans view relationships between each other VERY differently.

There is no real justification for Ghita to want to search for her father. Just to see that he's safe is a strange reason, considering galdori are the ruling race. For Ghita to search for her father would put her at personal risk and possibly ruin his reputation and livelihood should she turn up on his doorstep.

If you still wish to search for him, it is best if you come up with a real reason to find him. Perhaps Ghita's mother is sick and she wants to find magical help. This would have to also imply that there were actual feelings in their relationship.
