!!!Backstory:

Born in Vienda to galdori parents Mavold and Lisse, Vala lived a plush lifestyle until she failed her Initiation test. Her parents seemed disgusted. Her mother even made an off hand joke that they should have known she'd be a scrap with her blonde hair, and her head always in the clouds.
Behind closed doors they had a different attitude and pulled strings to have their daughter sent to Brunnhold. They hoped there she would have a better life than most passives thrown out into the cold.

Valanese became a maid at Brunnhold. She worked around the university and did whatever work was given to her. She mostly cleaned and was given busy work, which suited her well. Despite her new life and work, being disowned did not become much easier. Discovering the Society for Passive Equality spurred her hope that the galdori would one day accept passives, and she could be reunited with her family, maybe even as a sorceress.

!!!Personality:

Vala is the first to say a starfly is a shooting star, and make a thousand wishes on it. She couldn't tell you the difference between one or the other, and hopes that one day she can blend in and be confused for one thing or another in her world. She is kind, sensitive, and a bit clumsy. Vala is optimistic about her position and feels that in some way she will find where she belongs in Brunnhold and will be happy. She enjoys the busy work she does, because it leave some room for thought. She is imaginative and likes to hear stories as much as weave them in her head while she works. It seems like she always has a furrowed brow when she works. She's found it's better to look like you're concentrating instead of appearing to be daydreaming.
She has a habit of running her mouth and prattling on when she's asked something, and when she's nervous she has a tendency to stutter. She is not the first to defend herself, and lets herself be pushed around. She does not have a thick skin, but has learned to save tears for later, a private matter if she can.

!!!Physical Description:

Vala is around five one in height with a lanky body. Her arms and legs are long and she is fairly thin. She is just beginning to develop, and still has baby fat on her here and there. Her blonde hair is cut short and styled into a bob and her almond shaped eyes are blue. She is fair skinned with a round face and smooth features. Her passive tattoo is on her upper right arm. She is pigeon toed, and usually stands with her foot pushing inward, unless she is making a conscious effort to stand straight.

Vala's goals are to find the place she feels she belongs and be happy. She also wants to help passives live in harmony with other races. She wants to help the SPE, and has offered herself as a subject for research.
