"Shut up, Rita, I'm trying to concentrate..." Seth whispered under his breath as he manuvered the lockpick in the keyhole, listening as each tumbler was bumbed into place. "What are you talking about? Of course I'm not gonna get caught!" There was a soft click as the final tumbler was cleared. He gripped the cool brass doorknob and twisted slowly, then carefully, quietly, pushed the door open. A long, dark hallway loomed infront of him, a welcoming, warm rug running it's length. There were several arches and doorways leading out of the hallway, and a set of stairs leading up at the very end. "Nice hit..." He smirked. "You know what to do... yes, yes, I'll get you your beer when we're done here, now go on." He set Rita down and let her wander, knowing she would find some sort of shiney- and most likely valuable- object without his help.

Let's see... He pointed to one of the doors, That one looks promising...

Minke Labres had become increasingly more curious of the world around her. Her recent encounter with a perfectly nice stranger had sparked a new desire inside her. A desire to get out and explore.

She had spent the early morning contemplating where to go next. Minke decided to roam the streets around the Brunnhold campus. Although she was more adventurous than normal, she was still just as cautious and brought Kendra, her banter wolf, along with her in case of a conflict. Kendra's presence wasn't really necessary or practical, though. If Minke did get into a confrontation, Kendra would probably try to befriend the assailant. She was friendly to a fault.

Turning the corner, Minke saw a shadowed figure hunched over a doorknob. Was he drunk? What if he couldn't get into his dorm? She squinted her eyes trying to bring details of the figure clearer. He wasn't wearing anything that looked like a school uniform.

Just then the figure opened the door and wandered inside.

"C'mon, Kendra." Minke whispered under her breath, edging closer to the building and stopping at the doorway. What was she thinking? What if he was armed? Minke peered inside as discreet as possible.

Seth continued on through the door at which he'd pointed, smiling to himself for a brief moment- and the smile fell when the room turned out to just be a dining room. Ok... noone's going to buy the family silverwear... "Hmm?" He turned, hearing a soft sound behind him, "That was fast, Rita... ehh.. Rita?" He looked around, then jumped when he saw a long shadow cast in the light filtering in through the door- not belonging to Rita. "Ah--" Light paws suddenly appeared right beside his head as Rita jumped to his shoulder, "Yes, Rita, I know we've been caught- you can stop gloating, now."
He focused his attention back on the door, squinting at the silhouette, trying to make out any defining features, and hoping it wasn't the Galdor owner, returning from a late night at work.

As the intruder turned around Minke couldn't help but let out a squeak. She froze, trying to think of what to do. The heroes in stories had always confronted the antagonist, but then there were the horror stories of victims that didn't run when given the chance.

Kendra let out a curious grunt and peeked out from behind Minke's legs.

Seth stared at her- him?- for a long moment, then froze when he saw the banderwolf peeking out from behind her. A... a dog? Oh, no... dogs are hyper, and messy, and they make a racket, and... and worst of all, they eat cats! He placed a hand on Rita's head, trying to calm her as her back began to arch and her tail puffed out twice her size- her claws digging into his shoulder. "Gah- Rita, get your points out of my shoulder, if you please!"
He then blinked, realizing the woman.... er... man? At the door had not said anything, and may have just been a curious passerby, who may keep quiet with the proper motivation. "Eh... Get back!" He said, trying to sound as scary as he could, whipping out a lockpick, "I am a criminal! If... if you don't leave quietly, I'll cut you!" He held up the lockpick in a 'threatening' manner, then proceeded to make stabbing motions with it, "Stabbity- stabbity!!" She doesn't look very convinced... "I know, Rita, shut uuuup!"

Minke eyed the man curiously. She couldn't quite tell if he was serious or not. Was he mumbling to his cat? Minke let out a giggle of nervousness or was it humor at his failed attempt to be threatening? She wasn't sure which.

"'Stabbity-stabbity.' Words of a true villain." Minke jested. "I wouldn't push your luck with the cat around. Kendra loves a good chase." Kendra whimpered impatiently and wagged her tail in response.

"What are you doing here?"

Seth grit his teeth, and went rather red in the face, almost as red as his hair- it was unsure if this was from anger or embarrassment.

At that, Seth tensed again, and quickly turned his attention back to Rita, "Shh! Don't worry, I am sure it was just an empty threat... oh, come on, you know I won't let the dog hurt you!" He was then quickly brought back to reality by the next question.

"Oh, me? Doing? Just your average B&E-- I-I meeeaaan... Bacon and Eggs! Yes, we could all go for bacon and eggs once and a while..." Smoooooth... "Shh!" He looked back up at the stranger, laughing nervously.

B&E? Minke cycled through possible meanings for the two letters;
Bert & Ernie- Who were they?
Boil & Eat- He wasn't cooking eggs. That of course left bacon and eggs out
of the question.
"BREAKING AND ENTERING?!" Minke shouted as she finally realized what was happening. She couldn't believe how oblivious she was sometimes.

"Do you know what the Seventen will do if they find out about this?! I-I could be an accomplice if I don't turn you in. If I did turn you in, they'd surely hang you. Vrunta, they'd probably hang me too, for whatever reason they could concoct." Minke paced nervously. Some good her adventurous side had done her.

"Erg... Woah, woah, woah, hold up!" He glanced back at Rita, who seemed to be hiding- he wasn't sure if it was from the dog, or the overly talkative rambling lady in front of him, "Yes, I know, quite chatty. Anyway, miss, could you please keep your voice down? I don't want to wake the folks upstairs, if they're not already awake, which would be a surprise. Hmm... look, if you promise not to turn me in, I'll give you half the spoils of tonight's raid. Got it..?" He wasn't going to tell her that he hadn't gotten his hands on anything, yet. If she knew that, he'd likely be in trouble. And if he were to stick around, with all the racket she had made upon her entry, he may get cought by the less understanding galdori, and he certainly didn't want that.

If she asked about payment later, he would hand over one of his many pouches with a few coins in it and be on his merry way. Or, better yet.... Rita would be wanting a beer for her efforts, he would be wanting a beer to forget his embarrassing failure, and maybe this lady could use a beer to forget... what he needed her to forget... or, hell, everyone likes a guy who would buy them a good, stiff drink, maybe she would just end up liking him enough to not want to get them in trouble.... yes, that sounded good. Then he could be spared the extra coin... yessir, that would work grandly. "And, to top it off," He added, "I'll get you a beer. Or any ale ya want. So, whaddya say?" He grinned sheepishly, hoping she would take him up on his offer. "Yes, yes, Rita, you'll get a beer, too."

Minke mulled everything over for a bit. It really had been a long time since she'd done anything social and who couldn't need a few extra coins.

"Fine, but if I find out you ripped me off, your cat's my new boot lining."

Minke was pleased having added the last part. This guy seemed more than a little untrustworthy. Anyway, he was just a human. Surely anything he had up his sleeve would be nothing compared to some wick tricks.

"Eheh... No, no, Rita, you know I won't let that happen, besides, we're all honest thieves, here, she won't find the need to do any of that..." He scratched the back of his head nervously, then quickly left the place when he heard something moving upstairs. "Let's get moving, shall we?" He rushed them all out the door, shutting it softly- but securely- behind him, and turned down the street, heading for the nearest pub. "So, what can I get you?"

"That's a good question." Minke paused unsure of what to order. "I've never really been to a bar before." She wanted to ask what they served but didn't. Was it just beer? What did beer even taste like? Why weren't her parents drinkers like the rest of the town seemed to be?

Minke realized they had walked quite a bit while she was thinking and were finally at the bar.
"Shall we?"

"Certainly," He opened the door for her, a small bell ringing as he did, and walked in after her, looking around carefully. "Let's see... I'll be wanting the usual beer, as will Rita... and you'll want... wait, you mean to say you've never been to a bar, before?!" He cleared his throat, regaining his composure, "Er... yes, Rita, that is quite odd, but let's not offend the lady. Ok, well... have you ever heard of moonshine? Good stuff, real strong, goes down smooth, has a pleasant burn to it. Warms you up nice, too, and that's good in this weather." Rita's ears seemed to flick back at the mention of moonshine- apparently this wasn't as pleasant an experience for her as it was for Seth.
