"Whatever 'foresight' I may have is along the lines of gambler's intuition than actual social grace. You would be surprised at how much one learns at a card table can be applied to say, people," nodded matter-of-factually in between bites. "In any case, their problems seem to currently lie beyond anyone else. Even friends."

Vincent was just about done with his formerly full tray of food. He always at something of a large appetite. The albino always made a point to not make a fuss about the huge portions of food that he constantly ate by eating quickly and quietly, even when talking to someone. The red eyed boy took a sip of water, allowing himself to give a sigh of satisfaction after he set down the glass. A curious question crossed his mind.

"Is it true that they are to marry?" He glanced over at the table that he had left behind where Nauleth and Athrym was the sole occupants.

Angus nodded. What Vincent said was true. Angus had no part in their quarrels and probably no place at their table. Wasn't much he could do to fix things for them and lately he wasn't inclined to try as hard. His obligations to Lady Bruthgrave aside, he did not see that it was getting him anywhere.

"Yes, they're planning to marry soon. They're young for it but they're both very decisive." Angus said, forcing his voice into a lilt that indicated he entirely and unequivocally supported their decision. "Terrifying prospect to me, I'm not sure I could ever marry. Society might try to force me into settling down, Alioe forbid."

Angus switched the conversation onto himself, so that he could direct it away from Athrym and Nauleth. He did not wish to discuss them anymore. Though he had not believed his friend should side with him over his fiancee, he was still hurt that Nauleth hadn't even asked after his health following his fall. He didn't want to think about it.

"What of you? Have you any sweetheart waiting in the wings?" He asked.

Vincent recognized the need to switch over topics in the conversation. He wasn't even sure that both parties apologized to each other yet. The albino was loath to rub salt in wounds of those that he considered friendly. He took the hint.

"A sweetheart for me??" a rare baritone chuckle issued out of him, his mouth curling into a wry grin. "I have hardly the time!"

"There's always time for sweethearts." Angus retorted. "Would that I had more."

Would that he had one...

"I crave anything that fills the day with more intrigue and joy than nothing but classes and lectures and boring drugery." Angus continued, every pore exuding a self-aware brand of upper class angst. "I am so tired of this old town. I want to travel, you know? I cannot wait to leave."

It was an honest statement but it sounded like hyperbole, he wanted it to. He knew he was studying at one of the best academic institutions in the world. It was ungrateful to want out. He did though, he wanted what the university could not offer him.

Vincent nodded in understanding. He too felt what Angus was feeling, though to a greatly lesser extent. It had been a while since he last paid a visit to another country. Like Hox, or Mugroba. Or Gior. He was not sure that lectures were really that boring, but the red eyed boy supposed that point of disagreement was simply a difference of personality than the merits of the typical lecturer's teaching ability.

All the same, he missed both the cold, jagged mountains of Hox and the peaceful, rolling countrysides of Gior. He made a mental note to revisit them in the near future.

Vincent was now completely finished with his meal, his tray bare.

"While I myself cannot call my classes drudgery, I certainly agree with the need to get away somewhere," he sat back contented with his stomach that was full, at least for the moment.

Angus nodded in agreeance.

"Abject drudgery!" He said by way of qualification. "And the uniforms are boring. If the gods had wanted us to all look the same, I imagine everyone would marry their cousins and we'd all look like fish by now. This uniform has been my boon companion for far too many years. I shall never wear green again after this."

He was lying, he would wear green again, just not the same shade. He was enjoying the conversation more now that he could be hyperbolic with it. Even Angus was capable of tiring of society, although perhaps that was because he'd never really liked social intrigue.

"Where would you go?" Angus asked, in response to the implication that Vincent wanted to travel too.

The older boy's red eyes gained a faraway sort of look, as if reminiscing on fond memories. He, in fact, was. Even though he was not the most outgoing type, Vincent loved traveling to new places. He always felt a little more enriched and wiser from it. But even more was the sights and experiences that he partook in that could not be partaken anywhere else in Vita.

"I would either want to go back to Hox," the albino posited. He actually enjoyed the bitterly cold weather, as it made him feel more alert and on edge. The native stoic mannerisms also was something that Vincent took pleasure in doing, as it wasn't very different from how he would behave regardless of setting.

"Or Gior." At the country's mention, a wry smile grew onto his face. He was welcomed there with open arms for his appearance. As superficially unsound as it was, Vincent felt like he belonged with the family that his father left behind. It was a good feeling.

Angus' first assumption, given Vincent's appearance, was that he had family in Gior. He knew that Lady Bruthgrave was from there but given her history, he had no such desire to see the country. It sounded both cold and cruel to him.

Mugroba suited him better.

"I'd like to go back to Thul Ka." Angus said. "Very friendly place, very warm."

Everything about it had been warm, the days, the people, even the food. Angus didn't mind the sand. It was so colourful there and it didn't get horrible and rainy for two months like Anaxis.

Angus sighed, more loudly than he'd intended to.
