!!!Backstory
As a small child, Jane lived on the mill her father worked on. When Jane was born, her mother died from the childbirth, so Jane never met her mother. Before Jane was born, her mother also gave birth to her older brother, Kaid. Kaid is seven years older than Jane, and while they were growing up, Kaid and Jane had an extremely close relationship. Kaid would protect Jane from anything, and Jane loved her big brother immensely. Though, Kaid was always happy just being a farmer. It seems that Kaid was born into the right family. He loved to work the land, and was content with staying at home. Soon, though, he would find his own family.

While working on the mill, Jane and her family were plagued by the ruling of the galdori. Every week, they'd come to the door, demanding for money for taxes and rent. The land that Jane and her family worked on wasn't actually theirs, they were only given the 'privilege' of working on it. The combination of both rent and taxes made life hard for Janes family. Due to these taxes, there was very little money, and sometimes, there wasn't enough to buy any food. As Jane got older, she began to see how the galdori was pulling her family apart. Her father was slowly dying away, starving from the lack of food. Her brother was get restless and angry, Jane could see he wanted to fight back, and she wanted to too. But their father knew best, and that fighting the galdori would just end in tears.

Farming wasn't the only thing Jane learnt on the farm. Kaid had learnt how to read from their mother, so, he passed the skill onto Jane. Jane learnt how to read and write by the time she was ten. Kaid had learnt very minimal skills from his mother, as she died when he was only seven. But, it was enough for Jane to learn from, and it wasn't too hard for Kaid, as he continued learning, even after his mother died. But, due to the fact it is prohibited for humans to read or write without a permit, Jane had to learn these skills in absolute secrecy. She learnt late at night by candle light, and during the day, had to act as ignorant as ever. Jane hated it, but it kept Kaid and her father happy, so, she continued to keep it a secret. Jane also learnt how to fight, both fist, and dagger fighting. Her father saw the benefits of teaching Jane how to fight, as he believed that Jane would leave for the big city one day. Jane told him that she would never leave him to run the farm alone. Jane was quite good at it, and used it as an outlet of her anger for the galdori. She would practice alone, and think. She would think of her mother, and her family and life in general. Sometimes, she was sad because of her poor situation. But, often, she would be happy; she knew her life was better than those in the city. Jane often wondered if her mother would be proud of her. She hoped so. Jane learnt how to fight through all of her childhood, and it was part of her life. Both Kaid and Janes father contributed to her learning of this skill, often fighting in the fields. Jane never learnt how to fight with a sword, as there was never the skills or the resources available, and she would probably get killed for walking around the city with a sword. It would attract unwanted attention. The final thing that Jane had been taught, was basic first aid. Due to the fact they lived in a mill, quite a hazardous place, there were a lot of injures. So over her time living there, she became interested in healing people and learnt how to do it herself. While being the only woman in her family, Jane learnt how to cook and clean. She was the housewife of the family, and hoped one day that she would use these skills to her advantage. Janes specialty was dseserts. When they could get the ingredients, (which wasn't often), Jane would make the most delicious cakes and tarts. Jane learnt that everyone had to pull their weight, and she respected her father and brother for the respect they gave her. She knew that even the women had to work. Jane became a feminist because of such views in the family, but never talked about it openly a lot - only if someone ticked her off for calling her an 'incompetent woman'.

Overall, Jane had a happy, productive childhood. But, when she turned 16, she began to turn restless. She would see galdori guards, and try and lash out at them - her father and Kaid would have to hold her back. She would talk of plans to try and get the taxes back. All Jane really wanted, is for the galdori to know that the humans have a rightful place. Jane wanted to see that the discrimination was to end. She wanted her family to be safe. Her father and Kaid were worried for her mental health as she had never acted with such force. Though, Jane did remind her father of Janes mother - always wanting to fight for what's fair.

On her 17th birthday, Jane was sat down by her father. He said that he had noticed how much anger she had built up against the galdori. He saw how much she wanted them gone. He suggested that she leave for the city, and see what help she could find. At first, Jane recoiled at the idea. Then, as she slowly thought about it, she began to see the merits. She remembered hearing rumours and knowing of the freedom fighters, the resistance. This gave Jene renewed hope.
Jane left the next morning. She packed everything and said her final goodbyes to Kaid and her father.
She came to Vienda, and saw how badly the humans have been treated. She knew, that she had to do something, and the resistance seemed like the only way.

!!!Personality

Jane is overall, a very kind person. She cares for others more than herself. But, she has built up anger from the galdori, so she wants to fight back as best as possible. Jane is pessimistic and cynical, coming from years of working on unproductive farms. Jane has always been a fighter from the day she was born. She fought for her families freedom, but nothing was happening. Jane loves to fight, and loves to heal people. She sometimes comes across as angry, unsociable and unapproachable. This is true, Jane keeps to herself and she it full of built up anger, but, Jane is generally nice to everyone, sometimes a little shy, except the galdori unless she needs to be. She love children, and often helps out in the orphanages of human children that keep popping up everywhere. Jane feels extremely sorry for the passives, and does anything she can to help them. Jane is a feminist, and she hates double standards. She believes that women are just as strong as men, and she gets very annoyed when people call her an 'incompetent woman'.

!!!Physical Description

Jane is Anaxi. She is around 5'7" and about 60 kilos. Jane has blue eyes and brown curly hair that is just below shoulder length. She usually had it tied up in scarf when she was working on the fields, but when she came to the big city, Jane changed her style to a simple bun on her head. Jane is tan from working in the sun a lot. Jane is lean, but muscular. Despite her thin, smallish size, she is quite strong and fit for her age. She isn't necessarily attractive, but she isn't unattractive either; Jane is rather average.
While working on the farms, Jane wore a traditional pointed skirt, about knee length. She had a small leather corset around her waist, and a tank style bodice. She wore boots to protect her feet. Her skirt had a myriad of pockets.
As a city civilian, Jane changed her clothes. She wore thin cotton leggings, going to the bottom of her knees, a pointed skirt that went to the middle of her thighs, a leather belt, and a tight fitting, long sleeved shirt that went 3/4 of the way down her arm with a V neckline and an undershirt. She still wore the same boots. She skirt still has lots of pockets, but she also uses her belt. She has a tattoo of a bird on her arm - the blue bird represents happiness.

Jane may also make something of herself through cooking, when everything has calmed down politics wise. First, while in the city, she's got to find out a way to get to the galdori where it really hurts. Jane sees the resistance as a way of doing this - she plans on joining the freedom fighters when she reaches Vienda

Hi, Jane! And welcome!

Here are a few things we would like you to consider revising before we approve you for play!

1) While humans are taxed, they aren't so high that the family in question would starve. However, if you're looking for a situation that would lead to that kind of duress, you may consider that the land upon which they live does not belong to them, and so the combination of high rent with taxes might be enough to cause such troubles.

2) If Kaid is only three years older than Jane, and their mother died in birthing her, then it's really not realistic for him to have learned how to read from their mother. He would need to be a little older for that-- about 5 years for him to learn enough for it to stick and for him to be able to teach Jane.

3) "There was no human schools in the area, so Jane only had the chance to learn basic skills in secret," There really aren't any human schools anywhere. Humans are the labor class, and most of them don't learn how to read, write, or do math at all, unless it's necessary for their job-- and they've received a permit to do so. So, yes, she would be learning in secret, but just know that there aren't really schools for humans, anyway.

4) Her father taught her how to fight with a sword? Unfortunately, not so much; if he's been a farmer all his life, he would never have learned how to swordfight. Hand-and-fist fighting, yeah, sure. Maybe even a dagger, but a sword is, unfortunately, a little far-fetched. Also, walking around a city (unless it's Old Rose) with a sword around your waist is bound to get you in trouble.

5) As for her occupation, she isn't a freedom fighter just yet, so if you would put "potential" in there, it would be better. Also, freedom fighting doesn't "pay the bills," so to speak, so having a side job would be beneficial, and provide more rp opportunities because of having a place of work.

Thank you so much for submitting your sheet! Post again when you've made your edits and we'll get right back to you!
