I 21, Circus Business, afternoon (Poe)

Once he had left Balder and run into Calli, he had to admit he was glad it was over with. He felt better now than he had that morning- all tense over what would or wouldn't happen. Hal wandered around in the same area he had seen Poe before, practicing his shots. He couldn't see the sharpshooter, but he knew he'd show up. The fellow seemed intent on joining the circus, so he'd probably show up to practice more. The bird tucked into a dive. It swirled down to Hal. Landing in the branch above him it turned out to be a Whice. The bird had no color save in his eyes. The white bird had light red eyes that looked a bit like embers. It looked down to Hal and its beak parted. A ruff high voice spoke slowly as the birds throat moved. "Hey, there. You know where Poe is, bird?" He didn't expect a response, but he watched the bird with interest, at any rate. He wasn't much for animals, but he didn't mind as long as he didn't have to deal with them. Almost all the way around. It blinked then looked over the way it came. Poe's feathered hat could be seen coming up over the hill. He had a back pack on and one hand in his pocket. He stopped when he saw Hal just for a moment. The bird lifted up and flew over to Poe as he stepped up to the boy. His smile spread over his face. "I've never seen'a all white one before..." Hal stood and brushed himself off, remembering why he had come. "So, apparently auditions for the circus were pretty much today. Balder, the ringleader, seemed kinda surprised at the interest peopl're showin' in performin'. He seemed really interested in your talent, but he was concerned about 'permits' er summat for yer guns. Anythin' you could say to make'im feel better about that would probably help you. An' the sooner you get over there the better. The bird gave a chirp. Poe thought for a bit. "All right then I best get the paper work lined up before I go. Good work Hal this will give me a leg up." He gave a smile and reached into his back pack. Wrapped in silk was the gun some powder and shot. In a small sack attacked was a few tools for cleaning the gun. He handed Hal the bundle. "Take good care of this and it will take care of you. He had almost thought he wouldn't do it, but here it was in his hands... He twitched into a smile. "Thanks. I'll be around, that's for sure!" He was excited, and wanted to start trying target practice, but he knew it wasn't the time. That, and he didn't want to shoot his eye out. He tucked it up under his shirt and held it under his arm. "See you around kid. Lets see if you can be a better shot then me. I use magic to make my shots you will have to do it on your own. The harder you work the better you become. You have had to over come so much and you have so much before you. See you soon." He turned and went to the city to get the papers he needed.
