Am returned to Vienda having found myself called away rather urgently. Such was speedy the nature of my departure that I regret that I did not get a chance to thank you warmly for the hospitality you were kind enough to show me in Brunnhold and also for the top class healing. I hope that this letter finds you well, and that there are good deal many more large, dry textbooks for you to enjoy reading. I must tell you that I found it rather pleasant to catch up with an old school fellow after a few years. I feel I must also confess the motives I had for revisiting Brunnhold- which no doubt an intelligent woman such as yourself had already deduced and also to ask of you a large favour for an old silly school fellow.

As a member of the SPE, I was dispatched to conduct interviews with the passives in order to generate enough human interest in a large scale newspaper to alert more people to the plight of the passives. I was fortunate to meet two passives, an Aurelie Steerpike and a Triston Bricketson who I conducted the interview with. Triston, I understand is already acquainted with you through some sort of experimentation with that Harper Moore fellow and Aurelie works in the kitchens.

It is my worry that, as the newspaper draws closer to its publication that the girl’s involvement may somehow become made known and that their already difficult lives could become more difficult.

Abby- though I am aware that the infirmary keeps you inordinately busy- I know that your views on passives are commendable and I would implore you ,when and if your duties allow it, to please keep a weather eye turned towards Triston and Miss Steerpike for me. I have become sincerely concerned with their welfare and would dearly love nothing more than to have my healer schoolmate reply to my correspondence with news that both herself and the passives in question are in good health and spirits.

I must also beg for your discretion, though I fear I ask too much already, see that the girls are safe for me but please do not mention I bade you do it.
