I must admit, as I sit here writing to you, I wonder if you will even receive this letter. It is quite the lock down here, and I don't doubt this letter will have been read many times over before you read it. Such is the times we live in, I suppose. I must keep this brief, otherwise the blankness in the page will arouse suspicion. I have witnessed horror and terror and death, and I am disgusted with myself. With my kind. In a moment of clarity, I thought of your face, intermingled with those, suffocating in open air, and I could not breathe. The thought of your death filled me with pain, and fear. I do not know what happened between you and her, but I don't care any longer. It is a trivial care, compared to the moments we face in these dark times. To love is far better than to hate. I don't know what you think of me, I only hope you can forgive me for my reaction, and perhaps give me a chance to see you again. Even if only as a friend. The insanity of what I have witnessed eats at me, drowns me, but I now know where I stand.
