 Sorelle Estana Aelfior
'''Name:''' Sorelle Estana Aelfior '''Age:''' 11 '''Race:''' galdori '''Place of Origin:''' Vienda, Anaxas '''Occupation:''' Student
!!!Backstory
Sorelle was born in Vienda. Her parents married later than average and only had one child. Her father, Vilador, was a dedicated and ideal Seventen Investigator, and her mother Janissa was a retired academic who studied Mythic Beasts and proof of their existence. Janissa now lives as an elderly socialite, happily shopping in Kingsway Market for beautiful and exotic things she intends for family heirlooms. Sorelle was never particularly close to either of her parents but she was raised in an affluent and pandering society, teaching her impeccable manners and to always expect the best things in life to go to her. The social intrigue and gossiping which accompanied her mother’s friends taught her to read people well, too, and she was not a child to believe silly stories about ghosts under the bed or skeleton women who would eat her if she was wicked. Not that her parents or anyone else told her that she was wicked.
All her life she was encouraged to learn and be diligent in the pursuit of knowledge and power. She was always going to go to Brunnhold – there was never another suggestion. As soon as she was ten she was sent to take the initiation test. She achieved an almost perfect score – 9.9. In fact some of her assessors suggested that she had achieved the first initiation score of 10 in history, however the others strictly adhered to the theory that this is impossible and insisted that she must have been right at the high end of 9.9. Regardless, her potential was obviously great and she passed with flying colours. Her mother gained a new achievement to boast of in her social circles.
Now she was in her second year at Brunnhold, and had a clutch of friends and an ambition to go somewhere great, though that hadn't been narrowed down much yet. Her skill with the mona advanced in leaps and bounds, though of course she was still a child and just beginning her education. She was often mistaken for being older than eleven.
!!!Personality
Sorelle is a confident, courteous and intelligent girl. Sometimes she comes across as calculating, which she never would intend, but which would be true nonetheless: she is always planning things, which are either ambitious or very quietly malicious.
Despite being taught good principles by a father with a strict moral code (at least pertaining to the galdori point of view) Sorelle was not an ethical person. Her good upbringing taught her how to behave in society, but it also taught her to be ambitious and fostered a belief that she was better than others. The latter was also fed by her remarkable prowess at school in learning to manipulate the mona. If galdori are better than the other races because of their magical abilities, surely she was better than them all?
The depths of her pride were not reflected in her outward persona. She always acts cordially to everyone, particularly galdori of higher status than herself, but occasionally there is a mocking tone to her voice or expression, which was rarely picked up on but when noticed is disconcerting. This reflects her inner selfishness. Sorelle could never contemplate the idea of helping someone else unless it would benefit her in some way, and the single aspect of magic she quickly realised she struggled with was not performing spells for base reasons. She was deeply terrified of losing any part of her magical ability but does not want to 'be a martyr', so part of her time is devoted to thinking of good reasons to cast selfish spells. She hadn't had enough experience anywhere to realize the benefits of being nice, and could be as cruel as children come. Which is much more cruel than adults give them credit for. Some aspects of her personality could be attributed to childishness, but this was unlikely to change as she grew unless someone profoundly influencing changed her for the better.
She made friends easily and, while not initially feeling the need for them, found them useful and enjoyed their company. She warmed up to the whole friendship idea and had a couple of quite close friends who shared her ideas and ideals. She didn't make enemies, however she liked to be on top when she perceived a rival to her status of intelligence, power and wealth she tended to come up with a sly way of pushing them 'back down where they belong'.
!!!Physical Description
Sorelle is much smaller than average, very short and thin even for a galdori, but this didn't bother her. As she occasionally quipped (or boasted), perhaps her affinity for the mona was partly due to her being closer to their size than anyone else. She was also very pale, with yellow eyes and long, ginger hair, usually worn loose with certain vain additions such as braids and elaborate hair-clips and jewellery. She was cute, too, evidently destined to be pretty, but any delicate appearance she might have was obliterated by her ambitious, confident, faintly calculating manner. She did not look childish, or generally act childish either, and often was mistaken for being an older student.
!!!Inventory
*Various books on the mona and magic which she brought from home *School uniform *Various gorgeous outfits, including accessories, which are rarely worn but are a matter of pride
!!!Skills
*Magic, though which branch hasn't been identified yet *Lying, which is still developing as she tries to find ways to convince the mona that her spells are not base *Charisma and coming across as being charming and intelligent
!!!Goals
As she is still a young child and not far into her education at Brunnhold, Sorelle hasn't got much further than deciding to be the very best at magic there ever was and being very successful in whatever she decided to do with it.

Welcome to Thorns, Sorelle (pretty name, by the way)!
The mods will review your sheet and get back to you as soon as we can!
In the meantime, would you mind adding an extra space between your paragraphs? It will make things easier to read and we can get back to you faster!

Thank you! I thought I did add extra paragraphs but my internet was being dodgy so I think it didn't do the edit. Hopefully it works this time. Hopefully I can play soon!

 Re: Sorelle Estana Aelfior
Hi, Sorelle! Thanks for waiting!
There are just two things that need editing here, and I think we can get you approved.
1) Some of this can actually be in present tense. The backstory is fine, but things like the personality section and description may be in present tense (ex: "Sorelle is a confident, courteous and intelligent girl." instead of "Sorelle was a confident, courteous and intelligent girl.").
2) The score a child receives in their initiation is not an automatic indicator of skill. It is an indicator of potential. Just because someone has a high initiation score does not mean they automatically have a good relationship with the mona, and are therefore instantly good at their spells. They still have to work and practice to form that relationship in order to become skilled.
Just make these two edits, and we'll see about approving you!
