 Seir Tiernan
'''Name:''' Seir Tiernan '''Age:''' 25 '''Race:''' Passive '''Place of Origin:''' Brunnhold '''Occupation:''' Anaxas
!!!Backstory
The Tiernan family, a family of reasonable wealth, influence and magical ability, had one unique trait that set them apart: they were quite convinced of their incredible superiority over pretty much anything else that lived. This was a lesson that was taught to Seir from a young age: it was repeated to him on a daily basis that he was smart, charismatic, talented, strong, and most importantly, incredibly attractive. The boy was given tutors, caretakers, entertainment, and anything else his parents deemed appropriate, up until his tenth year when he was sent to his initiation test. In retrospect, his parents humbly accepted the lesson that the reassurances of superiority should wait until they were assured that their magical prodigy was actually capable of magic.
Most children might find the sudden switch from pampered prince to gated servant traumatizing, or at least jarring. Seir, who was fully convinced of the lesson his parents had taught him, took it all in stride, certain that it was just a first step on his path to greatness, a unique set of trials that only confirmed his destiny. He was told he couldn't use magic, but he knew that he really held the most powerful magic of all: it didn't even require all that studying or spellcasting! He was told he was worthless; he knew that was just jealousy speaking.
Seir took to the work easily enough, unbothered by the hard labor and possibly even enjoying it. While he wasn't rebellious or defiant, he had the occasional quirks in behavior and habit of disagreeing cheerfully with people over his own superiority has earned him the occasional whipping. Fifteen years later, Seir has gone from a supremely confident child to a supremely confident adult, honing his mind and body for his approaching destiny. He's often found assigned in the garden, or moving things around.
!!!Personality
Seir is, in a single word, confident. His entire world view is founded on the belief that he is superior to pretty much everyone: humans, passives, and other galdori alike, and facts that challenge that belief are interpreted to fit his view. Rooted in the constant, strong repetition of this fact from an early age by his parents (who, given the sudden separation after the failure at his initiation test, have never seen him again to refute the fact), it's something that he completely believes to the point of self-delusion. He still thinks that his parents are eventually going to come tell him the time's right to go off to do something amazing.
Despite his belief of superiority, he doesn't belittle others; after all, it's not their fault they're not as amazing. He does get along well with others and while he's not a paragon of justice or knight in shining armor, he doesn't mind giving other people a hand and helping them out. While he's nice, Seir is generally unattached to others, and will do things for others because he feels like it, not from any sense of concern. He's cheerful to the point where some might find him obnoxious, and he likes to talk and be around other people. If he ever has doubts or fears, he doesn't express them around others, and he's never been seen to lose his temper.
!!!Physical Description
Seir did get some decent genes from his parents, at least in terms of height if not overwhelming beauty. He's also well-built from a life of hard labor, making his figure resemble a human more than a galdor. He's not gorgeous like he thinks he is, but he has an easy smile that brings something to his features. His hair is coppery in color, worn at shoulder length, and thick, in a style he likes to consider "rugged" and others might call "rough". Seir keeps himself clean-shaven; he hates the feel of stubble. He has a few scars on his back from whipping, and of course the passive tattoo. He's darker than the average galdor from being in the sun.
!!!Diablerie *Unknown
!!!Inventory
*Straight razor and a shard of mirror *A couple sets of standard issued clothing
!!!Skills
*Education - Up until his initiation test, Seir was given a good education by his family. Since he continues to believe that he is smart (which he reasonably is, and is good at picking things up), he continues his book learning whenever and however he can, resulting in him knowing little bits and pieces of various subjects, things like math and history and other equally impractical things for the real world. He does this by sneaking looks from the library when assigned to move things around in there. Yeah, that's where some of the whip scars come from. Magic is excluded--he has no interest since he knows it's not the way his magic works. He also knows nothing of combat since he hasn't been exposed to it. *Charisma - His confidence and optimistic, if odd, attitude give him an odd sort of charisma. He also has some ability to bluff, being completely confident in his ability to lie and deceive. *Physical strength - As a healthy young ten year old, Seir was assigned to 'boy' tasks like heavy lifting. He considers his strength to be one of his best advantages.
!!!Goals
Seir's parents prepared him for greatness, but didn't really specify what that greatness really was. Bored with the idea of pursuing politics and under the impression that if he really wanted it, he could have whatever wealth or material possessions he wants, he has decided his ability would best be pursued in leaving the marks of his greatness on the future generation, preferably as many as possible. Yes, he's a passive who dreams of being a playboy.
If you're going to dream, dream big.
While he waits for his eventual destiny to come to him, his major focus is on improving his mind and body and keeping his eyes and ears open for any signs of said eventual destiny.

 Re: Seir Tiernan
hey tia! so, loving the cocky passive, but at the same time...15 years is a long time to be so confident and self assured. perhaps its more denial than confidence? and perhaps he can have times of weakness where he just locks himself away and grieves for his life. know what i mean?
secondly, books are a very hard thing for passives to access. damn near impossible unless someone was smuggling them to him. and even then thats very hard. perhaps look at this and see if its essential to the character?
the only other thing is his goals, whilst amusing and matching to his character, there needs to be something more solid. Perhaps something related to his passiveness and a deepseeded desire to be what he was supposed to be. perhaps he wants to make a stand for passive-kind - even if it will land him in a world of trouble.
post when you've made edits darl!

 Re: Seir Tiernan
tia - thanks for editing mate. its still hard to believe that a person could maintain such self importance and enthusiasm after 15 years of oppression and servitude, unless he has a mental condition of some kind. i know you dont want to edit him, because of the story he has...but realistically in the environment of Thorns - if it were you in his position, do you think you would still be that confident and self assured?
have a think on this stuff and get back to us. i still think there needs to be some more of an indication as to WHY he is so self confident...and not just delusioned. 15 years is way to long for a normal 'person'.
