!!!Backstory

Brady was born in the stacks of Brunhold. He lived there with both of his parents (who worked in the factories) until he was about sixteen, and then the whole family moved. Because of his time in Brunhold, he's never had the same sort of fear the people in Vienda have of gollies. He doesn't like them, but he also doesn't duck into alleys if he feels the presence of a field. When they moved to Vienda, he began his work in its factories.

He had already been fairly muscular as a youth, and his work as a lifter only increased his bulk. At 24 he found a woman he wanted to marry...unfortunately, she didn't want him back. After a series of misadventures, the love of his life, Millie Collins, married herself off to another man (one that, he thought, was rather an arse). He spent a few months after that moping around in his building and trying to find a way to occupy his mind.

As it was, his mind found that making up rhymes was the best way. As the years passed his love for Millie faded, but his newfound love for rhymes stayed with him. He began to attempt to learn to write and came to be able to do it in a scrawling hand with many...many mistakes. Strangely enough, Brady doesn't really like to read. He claims it makes his head ache-- despite writing sheets and sheets of misspelled poetry, his love for words seems to stop when it comes to reading very long texts. The only book he's ever read and enjoyed is The Good Farmer's Son, which he feels speaks of the deepest kind of human experience.

His father suffered an accident in the factories that made him incapable of working when Brady was 30. The accident made his father bitter and dependent on his mother (who now has to stay home to take care of her invalid husband) as well as his son, who immediately hands over all of his funds to his parents.

Brady still works in the factory that he did when he was sixteen. His friends there often think he's the only thing that makes working in the factories bearable. He's constantly making jokes and trying to keep people's spirits up.

!!Personality

Brady is a very practical person, as all humans are. He's friendly and honest. He doesn't get angry quickly, and he's a very glass half full type of person. He's heard of the resistance organization and he doesn't oppose it, although he hasn't actively looked to be involved with it. He likes stories and people, as well as children. At times he can become obsessed by his own thoughts, and dwells on his problems more than he should. He likes to test out his new poems on people by quoting them whenever possible. Some people find his constant fixation on his writing annoying.

!!!Physical Description

A square jaw that's usually been shaved and a wide nose are the most obvious of Brady's features. He's of an average height, and he's very muscular. Grey blue eyes with creases at the corners and permanent circles under them betray a man who is often tired but has a good sense of humor. He keeps his hair short (having learned that when one works in a factory, long hair is more of a hazard than a decoration), and it's beginning to grey at the edges. His skin is tanned, although less so than those who work outside. He's often incredibly dirty, although he tries to take showers at least once a week.
