Post [L-19, morning] A Street-Corner Debut [OPEN]
Henri was in a good mood today.

It was oddly sunny for this time in the season. The sun shining though the heavy clouds in warm beams, defying the cloud cover as it broke through the vapors and banished the dreadful dreary rain... at least for now. Humming merrily along, the young wick was practically bouncing along the walkway, his fiddle case bumping against his back with his every step.

His good humor was somewhat odd, considering a certain past experience not to long ago, but none of that mattered now... Henri had a new song. That said past experience had inspired that song was of no consequence; it merely made it that much easier to heal, and if the story had been changed somewhat from the actual events, well... No one need know such things, now did they?

So humming as he moved along, Henri made his way towards his favorite corner. It was his favorite for several reasons: it was close enough to the marketplace that he got a good flow of traffic past it without being overly cluttered with the busy people and so swamped with sound that no one would hear the sound of his music, but not so desolate that it was hard to find him. An added plus today was that there was a benny bit of sunshine that hit this particular corner on a day like this, which would prove to be a lovely little spotlight as the shadows of the buildings crawled ever closer. And it would keep him warm... he hated the cold.

Practically hopping to the corner, the wick set down his case and his satchel and with an elaborate flourish, kicked over one of the crates and shoving it into place with a foot as he took out his fiddle.

Whistling a few tuning notes, he checked his to make sure his beloved instrument was weathering the season as well as it should, and playfully plucked a few strings for emphasis. Lifting his bow, he started warming up. He was in no hurry today, he had a new song and he wanted its first showing to be perfect. Playing a few familiar tunes, warmed by the welcomed light of the sun, Henri nodded his head and bounced on his heals to the beat. Nothing he was doing was anything spectacular right now, just some light familiar songs that anyone could maw to as they hurried along and just enough to start getting the peoples attention.

Finally deciding that warmup was over, Henri grinned to himself with growing excitement. It was show time!

With a quick step, he jumped up onto the overturned crate, the impromptu podium raising the short wick up enough that he would be easily seen through the crowd. With a flourish, Henri loudly trilled out the opening chorus of his new song, the unfamiliarity of the melody sure to catch the attention of the idle listeners in the crowed.

Flashing a bold grin, Henri played the opening measure a second time before belting out the opening introduction to his newest creation:

Aie, No' man, nor wick, nor golly
Is safe from Charlie's Folly!

Aye yawned, she was tired, after encountering that guy in her spot, she was in a half bad half good mood. She sighed and was just about to sit down and watch people, when she heard singing, singing and music!

She raised an eyebrow... "familiar voice, familiar name in the song...." she thought, Charlie.... that was that golly, right? Then there was that voice, she could have sworn she had heard it before. She grinned and followed the music, odd morning and bad mood totally forgotten. Finally finding the source of the music, she smiled hugely and waved at the wick standing on the crate.

"He's singin' 'bout Charlie!" She thought, remembering the night they had all met, fun times, fun times.

Now that he was sure that he had gotten their attention, Henri gladly sprang into his opening verse, a bright smile on his face as his heart beat in time with his rhythm.

As I whent down to Old Rose
A couple moons ago
I met a man named Charlie
I hand not known before
He Seemed a pretty fine fellow,
For a galdor man ya know?
That is, till he set drinkin'
And his other side did show!

Spying a familiar splash of green making its way through the crowd, Henri threw the little witch-ling a playful wink... which when taken along with the last lines he had sung, gave the gesture an entirely different meaning when seen by a passerby.

(( damn, sorry about the thread necromancy guys... I didnt know until it was too late. ))
