 (H. 1, 4 oc) Too early for a prayer (Hex)
No one in sight, no field to be sensed whatsoever. Good. Shi closed the gardeners' door behind her and took one step towards the inner campus. She had paper, ink, and two or three hours before the gardeners would wonder where their breakfast was. She took a long breath and another step towards the north, one other step closer to the church. If this is not time to do it, it will never be.
She looked at the halo in the clouds that betrayed the presence of the moon and started walking more evenly. Alioe, if someone spots me, let them know that even a witch may want to pray you.
Suddenly, she stopped. She could feel a field. There was a galdor somewhere around. A galdor in Brunnhold, what a surprise. But where? Asleep or awake? In the street or in a house? The middle-aged witch walked to the middle of the street and waited, trying to decide if proceeding farther was safe.

Hex wasn't worried about being noticed--at least until Shi suddenly stopped and began looking about. The teenager had shadowed people many times, and had never been noticed. Then again, they were galdori students who didn't have a care in the world, not wicks who had fought for survival their whole lives.
As haunenshi boldly walked out into the middle of the thoroughfare, Hex gulped and quickly ran behind the foliage that dotted the sidelines of the street. With a worried expression, he glanced up and down the streets. He wasn't worried about being caught, but didn't want to be seen following a wick around at this hour. It didn't look like anybody was about.
"Pssst. Pssst." Quietly, he hissed at Shi, trying to discretely gain her attention. If she had noticed she was being followed, he might as well drop all pretense.

Psst? What's that? As much as the witch could tell the origin of the voice she was hearing and the origin of the field she was feeling was the same. So this was a galdor calling her. Instead of just standing in front of her and demanding to know where she thought she was heading. What's happening here?
After what appeared to her as a long time of hesitation, she eventually stepped towards Hex. Whether this was a trap or not, her best bet was still playing innocent. Smile and speak Mugrobi, as some spokes called the tactic.
It was still a bit unsettling to end so close to a student in the middle of the night. She hoped her own field didn't show how tense she was. "Do you have a problem, sir?"
