Please only make one journal per character, and specify in your thread title or your first post if OOC comments are allowed. For letters to other PCs or NPCs, you can make a new thread (you don't have to post them in your journal). Reply letters should be posted in the same thread.

Post Letters between Felix Livingston and Algernon Aynesworth
Dorhaven, Loshis 18

Dear Algernon,

I hope this letter finds you in good shape, ready to enjoy your ninth and tenth. I am taking a break from checking that all my luggage has been properly packed and sent to Vienda, before my pen and paper is packed too.

My current plan is to arrive tomorrow, so I can use the 20th to check my library has been unpacked and arranged correctly. I'll probably have to fix some of the classification myself, I'd be overly optimistic to expect a human to understand how to do it properly.

If everything goes as planned, I will be applying for a palace healer position the next week. Mother says I should not hurry and get some visibility first, so people who read my name know my face and not only my father's. I have not been to a good concert in ages, so I will look for what is happening in our fine capital city; maybe I can join pleasure and obligations?

I would like to invite you to some house-warming later in the week. I am currently planning for the 28th, eights make good days for parties, or whatever this will turn into, you know I am not much of the festive type.

I have to get a feel for this part of the town first. Father says I should not live there, much less invite anyone, that it has become too much human since our childhood. But the house is really beautiful, as I already described you, now that it has been refurbished and repainted, and well situated with a lot of sunlight. My butler assured me that there are no problems in this part of town, and that I will be perfectly safe and calm, but I want to see it by myself before I invite anyone. He's only human, after all, and I'm not sure what his definition of a problem is.

Do not worry, he has spent his life serving in good galdori households and came with great recommendations, so there is a fair hope that his advice is indeed reliable. And what is sure is that the post works fine here.

Please find here above my new address.

Sincerely yours,
Felix M. Livingston

Dear Felix,

I am glad to see that you are well. I cannot wait to see you in our fair city, I'm quite sure you'll enjoy it. I sent this to the new address because I wrote this on the day you were supposed to arrive, I hope you receive it.

On the subject of acquiring the office of palace healer, I hope all the best. The healers of the palace are the best on all of Vita and the position is one of prestige. Speaking of healers, how has your practice been going? Have you been healing all the residence of Dorhaven?

If you would like to accompany me on a excursion to a concert, I would be glad to oblige. I think there might be an opera or concert coming along this week. It would be a good idea for you to try and mingle with other Viendans, it might help you get a vibe for the city.

I am so pleased you have invited me to your house-warming festivities. This is my assurance that I will be there. if I may ask, who else is going? I would like to know the names of some of my fellow guest, to get a feel for the party. It will also give me a good idea on what to wear.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
Algernon Aynesworth

Dear Algernon,

Thanks for your kind reply.
As planned, I had to re-arrange the library, but my butler seems right, the streets look quite peaceful. Maybe even more than uptown, thanks to the tendencie of humans to walk rather than use carriages.

For the palace, I do not have the pretence, at my young age, to be one of the great palace healers newspaper write about. I would just like to find a lower position, like an assistant. A lot of people live or work in the palace, and if I believe my father stories, they need healers too. He was not that famous himself, despite being one of those palace healers.

And no, I have not healed everyone in Dorhaven, though I have done my fair share of the work. But during that time, I've come to question if healing is always the priority. Sometimes, the healing process can cause great discomfort to a patient who's already in pain, and one can wonder if the first thing to do would not be to treat the pain.

But I digress, and we can discuss this further when we see each other in person. As for the invitations for house-warming, you're currently the only one. I'm attending the opera tonight, and will post this letter on the way. If I cannot meet anyone interesting there, I'll have to resort to my mother's recommendations. Of course, if you have some suggestion, I will be happy to make that evening more pleasurable for you.

And I will also be happy to accompany you to a concert. As I wrote, I am going to the opera tonight, but I do not remember being fan of that loud singing. I look forward finding a good chamber music ensemble. Surely there must be some in such a city.

Sincerely yours,
Felix M. Livingston
