Radish strolled along the streets of Old Rose Harbor, his mother by his side. The had arrived there a week ago and had been slowly adjusting, living above a bar in a small apartment. They were out to shop and get groceries.
"Don't be too excited Radish, but... my sister, you barely knew her, and she left us a building. It's not great, but it's something you can start your pottery shop in. The reason I say don't get too excited is because it'll need some repair, I think." His mother blurted out. He stared at her, a grin slowly emerging on his face. "This is fantastic! Oh- this is so good. I can start my shop and we'll have a real place to live! Yes!"
Elaine looked pleased. "Oh, rum, I'm so glad you feel that way. I was hoping you would. Well, I do have the deed right now, because I was planning to show it to you. My sister died a few years ago and sent it to me."
Radish grinned. "This is so great. I never though this would happen. Lead the way."
His mother turned a corner and wound her way to a quiet side street off the market. It was a shabby building squeezed in between two flower sellers, peeling and cracked. The awning that hung over the doorway was in shreds, and the front consisted of large latticed windows and a small rounded doorway, with a thick brass knocker.
"It's great, I know we can make it work. We'll hire some workers to get it cleaned up with some of the savings I have left." Radish beamed at Elaine, and embraced her tightly. "This is going to be great."
