(L-13, 14 oc) A change of pace? Eyes set on Brunnhold (O)
Sid rose early in the morning, before the sun had managed to warm the cold morning air through the cloudy overcast. Even at those hours the small town had begun to bustle with trade and early pedestrians.
Sid had used some time the last days to prepare for the interview, among other things he had bought new clothes that would make him look less like a wick. A washed out white shirt, some brown brace pants and a pair of plain, dark leather boots.
He had also considered dyeing his hair to a darker colour, but that would probably look fake anyway, so he decided to just put it up in a ponytail. His few possessions were packed down in a bag on his back, including his old clothes.
After making himself ready and buying a cheap breakfast, he made his way to the aqueduct. He went up to the door of the public offices, ran his hand back through his hair, and entered, with a smile on his face.

Quincy was on holiday. Forced holiday. It was horrible. Why Gertrude had made him go on holiday was beyond the short bespecktacled man. He worked hard, he did what he was meant to, he crossed the T's and dotted the I's. How was it 'over commitment' that he inspected all the property files for tax abnormalities for the last 3 years? Surely, Gertrude must have seen that it was something that could have probably needed to be done one day.
Holiday. Wretched idea.
Unwilling to mope around Vienda, he had taken himself to Brunnhold for the two weeks she had said he was to 'relax' in. There he had been, minding his own business wandering past the Public Offices, not even really asking too eagerly if they needed a hand, when quite suddenly he found himself with a temporary spot. A sheer stroke of luck had it that their own clerk had found himself laid out with a case of Minerracints! Brilliant!
Glancing up from the tiny, cluttered desk where he'd been seated, he cleared his throat.
"Enter." He said in a dreary, unimpressed voice.

Sid peeked in before he went through the door, looking left and right, then entering the room. He stopped a couple of feet in from of the man's desk, stepping nervously where he stood, kneading his hands anxiously.
The new clothes and the ponytail made him look somewhat older than he usually did, except it didn't add to his height or weight. In a way he almost looked like a caricature of a grown man.
Sid was still not used to the unfamiliar dimensions of stationary houses. The roofs were high, the walls were thick and the floors mostly empty. Nothing at all like a kint. Not that he minded, it was all new and exciting.
He begun with a small bow and a nervous smile. "Err, good day sir. I have come here looking to see if there would be any employment possibilities in Brunnhold. Possibly an interview or similar could be arranged?"
Sid had rehearsed this the day before, trying to make it sound very "adult-like". The line sounded mechanical, as he had inprinted it in his mind like a verse, and he tried hard to not talk in his natural spoke-dialect. It was unsure if his attempts would fool anyone.
