Transferring Posts Why is this forum read-only? We are currently transferring all active posts to the new forum. Come into chat or email me ( cartographette@gmail.com) if you have any questions. If you'd like to volunteer to help, we could use your assistance! Welcome to the Character Journals section! This is where you can create an IC journal for each of your PCs, and post your character's letters to other PCs and NPCs. This forum is In Character, so all OOC comments need to be in OOC format. Please only make one journal per character, and specify in your thread title or your first post if OOC comments are allowed. For letters to other PCs or NPCs, you can make a new thread (you don't have to post them in your journal). Reply letters should be posted in the same thread.

 Jake Devaney's Notes
((Yes, it looks long, but I wanted to make it feel more in character by making it seem like everything was written on the "left side of the page," so to speak.))
The Devaney Arm
receptors attached to muscles improve reaction time
hands - may require several small motors
muscle-like design: functional, organic, pleasing to look at
Materials copper wire steel plating rubber pads/insulation various mechanical parts
Assembly plating is layered in a style that depicts sinews of muscle tissue. rubber lines inside of plating to prevent conduction due to possibly exposed wires. wires wrapped in rubber insulation lead to motors in shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand/fingers. hand and wrist assembled in manner that allows greatest freedom of movements for small joints contained.
Note: will need to find friendly galdori to help attach arm; simple healing spell perhaps? need to look into further.
signals from brain should hopefully translate well to wiring. however, complex wiring and mechanics may require higher level of thinking. shouldn't be a problem.
certain muscles not contained in arm react to arm movement. receptors added to respond to reactions; should improve reaction time.
Elbow: segmented strip? would protect possibly exposed wiring well and allows for good range of movement
EDIT: not similar enough. clothing possibly get caught between segments.
*IMPORTANT* Side Effects mechanical arm devoid of any and all biological imperfections. possible that mechanical arm is more accurate, resilient, powerful than flesh-and-blood. good? bad? impossible to tell now. must study further.
