!!!Backstory

Pertinax Dowling was born to an unknown galdor father and a human mother, Bridget Dowling. Bridget was a prostitute who conceived Pertinax with one of a few galdori human-fetish clients. She wanted to name her new boy after his father, and since she didn’t know which of them it was, she simply combined two of their names, resulting in “Pertinax”. Though Bridget was rather pro-galdori, Pertinax was always bitter that his father had left him, and his mother’s own continued love of the race in the face of her abandonment made him dislike them even more. Despite this, Pertinax grew up loved, and assisted his mother with chores and the like, especially after she began to work as a laundress. Her relative amount of skill allowed her to make enough money for him to have a comfortable life, and so he was not subject to the rough life that many other tsats and humans have.

For a long time he knew little about being a wick other than what he gleaned from watching visitors to Vienda and only finally was able to meaningfully talk to a spoke at around age 7. From then on he admired them and became fiercely proud of being a wick and wick culture, despite the fact that it had little to do with him. From a few revisiting friends he learned a little bit of Tek and was able to learn some magic, but still remains relatively removed from wick society. He does, however, have a pretty good handle on both Trip and Green, the former of which he uses when he needs to remove himself from sticky situations, the latter being relatively useless, but occasionally helpful for gardening. He has few friends, thanks to his mother’s somewhat sheltering nature, but he is always trying to impress the spokes he finds, and will do nearly anything to accomplish this goal.

Pertinax got a job as a drainsman, or sewer maintenance worker, a few years ago, and is able to make a decent living as a result. His continued residence with his mother has allowed him to save up enough to buy a couple things, and he has a few possessions to speak of. However, his job also imparts him with a terrible smell, which when questioned upon he would claim is “the smell of the rotted bodies of all those I have slain,” despite the obvious holes in this assertion. This smell has historically made befriending people somewhat more difficult, but he does try to bathe as frequently as possible to counteract this.

!!! Personality

Pertinax is not too difficult to get along with if you’re a human or a wick. He looks up to other wicks, having been disconnected with their culture for his whole life, and tends to try very hard to impress them. He isn’t as much a liar as he is an exaggerator, although he will indulge in his share of lying on occasion. As his mother is human, he has never seen an issue with humans, and is very friendly with them. He has a tendency to pick fights with galdori he thinks look weak, usually not taking magic into account in these encounters. He is interested in impressing girls almost as much as he is other wicks, and has been able to date in the past, although not as successfully as other men his age.

!!!Physical Description

Pertinax is slightly above average height, has olive skin, brown hair, and yellow eyes. Feature-wise, he’s a rather average looking guy, who could look presentable if he knew how to do so a little better. His clothes are mostly plain human style, but when he’s in the company of other wicks he will try to adjust them to look more wick. His hair is rather short, but long enough to make his hat fit more comfortably. Having seen many young male wicks with prominent sideburns, he now sports them himself. Though Pertinax is an admirer of wick culture, he has never felt the need to get tattoos.

This is a great sheet! I don't see much of anything wrong besides a couple odd returns. (you seem to have pressed "enter" at random places throughout the sheet.) If you could fix that, it'd be awesome.

Also, your goals are a bit sparse right now. A few character-building, short- and long-term goals will give you something more to do during RP than punch a Seventen (as fun as that would be.)

Alright, so I'm not sure where the extra returns came from, honestly. I used Word from Microsoft Office 2000, so. That's probably why. That thing sucks. Anyway, I added a few more goals. I can add further ones if need be, I suppose.
