!!!Backstory:

Amaro was born into a wealthy family with relatives high up in the government of Mugroba. At the age of 5, he and his family moved from Mugroba to Vienda, because his father got a job as an emissary for the country. Amaro thought his life would be smooth sailing. That is, until his initiation test. Once it was discovered that he was a passive, his parents had a very difficult decision to make. As the emissaries to the country, to keep their child would be going completely against the society they moved into. And so, they were pressured by the Anaxi society to abandon their child, and planned on sending him to work as a servant at Brunnhold. Amaro refused to work as a servant, and so instead escaped from his parents and fled to the streets.

He lived on his own for a few weeks, begging for food on the side of the street. However, a kindly human couple took pity on him and decided to take him in to work at their bar. They would provide him food and a bed, and he would wash dishes, clean the bathroom, and do other chores.

Amaro thought of these two as his only family in the world. They took him in, regardless of whether he was normal or not, and cared for him, and he was eternally grateful.

At 16, Amaro was allowed to work in the front, serving drinks and chatting with the regulars. He enjoyed conversating with them and learning more about the human culture. He was over his past, instead deciding to look toward the future.

!!!Personality:

Amaro is normally a passionate and friendly guy. He is fairly patient and kind toward humans, and is rather trusting of most humans as well. However, he is much less friendly to galdori. Nevertheless, he would reluctantly accept any galdori who treated him like an equal (even though that is unlikely to happen). He is lazy, but enjoys his work and works diligently. Despite working at a bar, he doesn't drink, because he is sick of the smell of alcohol by the end of the day. He doesn't like talking about his past with anyone, and will try to avoid the subject whenever possible. Amaro is sociable in and out of work, and hangs out with humans. He is indifferent to wicks.

!!!Physical Description:

Amaro is short, thin, and dark brown. Despite his small figure, he has some fairly developed muscles. He has smooth skin and a narrow face. His eyes are bright blue and he has curly blonde hair. His hair is long and unkept. He has no facial hair, because he shaves.

First, your race can just be listed as passive. Galdori do not consider non-magical galdori to be anything but a passive.

In Mugroba, passives (imbali) are treated with a lot more kindness and understanding than in Vienda. If you look in the Wiki under Mugroba, you will notice that imbali are treated relatively well in that country. Amaro may have been a disappointment to his parents, but they may not have gone to the extreme of abandoning him to the streets because of his non-magical heritage. He would not get to go to galdori school and would not be allowed special positions in society, but otherwise he would be allowed to live a perfectly normal life in Mugroba.

Amaro would have been able to make a living in Mugroba. Also, the Resistance is active in Anaxas because of the government's strict racial policies against humans, etc. owning property. There is absolutely no human resistance in Mugroba because they are allowed to work and own property there.

Your character sounds more suited for Anaxas with that back story, unfortunately. For your name to fit convention, you could always have one Mugrobi parent. Given what you want for your character, I strongly recommend you are not from Mugroba.

Ok, sorry I was so off-the-mark...
I like your idea... Perhaps my parents came from Mugroba as immigrants to Anaxas, and so gave me a name from Mugroba? And then feeling the extreme pressures of Anaxi society in relation to passives, they decided to disown me? But from my point of view, they willingly gave me up...

I like that idea, Amaro. They'd have to have a good reason for immigrating; perhaps his father or mother got a job in the Mugrobi government and they were asked to move here to help liase between the two countries? Social pressure would definitely contribute to that decision.

Apart from that part, it would help if you could clarify his feelings toward the galdori. At one point you say he tolerates them if he treats him like an equal, and then you say he has contempt and spite for them. (Realistically, no galdor would ever treat a passive or a human as an equal, so it might be more likely that he has spite for the galdori.)

I'll use the idea you had, if you don't mind.

What I meant by the two parts is that if they are part of something like SPE or they just interact with me like an equal, whether in public or private, I would show some respect. However, if they act like they are superior, I will be hateful. Sorry about the misunderstandings.

I see you changed your sheet in the direction we've suggested, but I wouldn't mind seeing you actually add that his parents were maybe torn about tossing him on the streets. Five years in Vienda is not necessarily long enough for two Mugrobi adults to change their views, in my opinion. You might want to add that because of their political position, they felt socially pressured to make their decision ... instead of sending him to work as a servant at the school (which would be the normal thing to do ... even the humane thing to do to Anaxi galdori), why did they abandon him on the streets?

If he was abandoned at 10, how would he join the Resistance? What would he be doing as a child to help them out? A year later, you have him leaving? Perhaps it would be best to leave that part out ... even our adult characters have to go through some trouble to become a member of the Reistance; it's not something people just walk in and out of, especially as a child.

I would recommend leaving that part out and spend more time on whoever took him in at the tavern. Perhaps they have a more family-like relationship? Maybe the owner that taught him more or less raised him and made him feel like family, regardless of his heritage?

I think that would definitely round out your character more, especially if he is nice to humans and wicks. He needs a reason to not hate everyone.
