!!!Backstory:

Edguard's father, Leoric Alleratt, was an explorer and archaeologist from Anaxas. He traveled far north throughout Mugroba and Hox with small excursions into Vezzea searching for forgotten settlements, artifacts, and history. Though he is not particularly well known, there are a few discoveries credited to his name.

In his adventures, he used an aeroship for easy transportation, and there are a few rumors that he turned to piracy at times. For years he was content to sift through dirt and dare to probe where others had not through lands infested with dangers. He eventually settled into transporting spice for Mugroba merchants until he was able to buy his own land and begin a decent trade for himself.

Eventually, he succumbed to love's embrace and settled down, as all good men should. One day while walking the crowded streets of the White City, his eyes fell on a lovely Imbali woman, Acherezza Jask. Instantly, his heart's cords were struck and he fell deeply in love. With as much haste as he could muster, he wooed her and they were joined.

Thus, Edguard was born. His early years were filled with fun and the love of his parents. However, his father soon grew restless and yearned to explore once again. So together, he and his wife made a pact. Once their son grew to the age of ten, they would send him to Brunnhold. If he passed the test, the lovers would leave in an aeroship and delve into the mysteries of far off lands.

By the time he was ten, his father's company had prospered, and now it could be left with trusted hands without fear. Edguard passed the test easily enough, and he was accepted into Brunnhold. With his parents money he was fairly well off, and occasionally gifts would appear for him--sometimes strange objects from distant places.

He never had too many friends, but the few he had were good an loyal. The color of his skin was often mocked, so he kept his grades average to avoid notice. He wasn't incredibly adept or some sort of prodigy, but he was talented.

While he didn't inherit his father's wandering gene, he did get his deep thirst for knowledge. Many hours were spent in The Library, at times it was a retreat for him. He was social, just different. So many of his peers were spoiled and haughty, Edguard just hadn't been raised that way.

When he was sixteen he chose to specialize in Perceptive Magic and maybe become an interrogator. He was also skilled with Physical Magic, but so many of his contemporaries were interested in that venue.

Graduation finally rolled around, and he quickly acquired a job interrogating potential and accused "Freedom Fighters" and other prisoners. His parents had not been in attendance, but they had offered to have him return to Mugroba. However, he declined. While he did miss the desserts of his homeland, he had grown to love Anaxas.

But Interrogation was not quite what he expected. The job sickened him. Edguard had heard about how it would go down; he had attended lectures on it. But the actual act felt so... wrong. To use magic in such a way made him sick. Humans, wicks, even a few other galdori. He found that no matter what their racial description, they were all alike.

He was forced to respectfully retire early, citing that the stress was far too great. For the most part, it was accepted well. After all, they thought to themselves, his parents have money, why would he want to work at all? But Edguard never accepted their generosity unless his need was dire. Now that his planned career had fallen through, he felt lost. Not wanting to return to Mugroba, he sought a job at the school in Brunnhold, a place he loved.

He was accommodated, but not in the way he expected. Many felt he was too young, but they found a place for him in The Library. With his sharp intellect, he found helping students quite easy and traversed the cavernous place with ease. At nights, and "off" hours, he sits and reads, much like he did when he was a student himself.

!!!Personality:

While quite intellectual, he is nothing special. Most would probably not remember him at their second meeting. He is constantly struck by indecision which stems from a deep internal conflict that plagues him. He suffers from trying to do what he wants while trying his best to please those around him.

He feels most comfortable around children, though he is not always popular with them. Edguard recalls his professors and tries to emulate their sharp authority while avoiding their sometimes... erratic habits.

!!!Physical Description:

Edguard is slightly taller than the average galdori. That, along with his lightly tanned skin, was a source of much mocking and pranks.

His eyes are bright green, often described as emerald. His strawberry blonde hair complements them well. His hair is cropped short in the top, sides and upper-back. His hair along the upper portion of the back of his neck is tied into a tight braided rat-tail. His face is usually clean-shaven except for short sideburns.

All in all, he looks very much like Anaxas galdori with just a hint of Mugroba exoticness, he even has a slight accent.

*gasps* I had never thought of giving a character certain tastes... Edguard shall have a sweet tooth, so I declare! White chocolate shall be his ultimate weakness. They have that in Anaxas, right <_<?
