!!!Backstory

Lilliana was born the first child of Juliette and Edmund Steerpike, sweethearts from their schooling days who married quite early in life. From the moment she began to draw breath, if ever there was a blessed child, Lilliana was it. Her parents adored her, lavishing her with gifts and affections. Whatever Lilliana wanted, she got. For her whole childhood she was raised without the word "consequence" ever entering her vocabulary, utterly without restraint or criticism.

It was in Loshis during her first year at Brunnhold that everything changed. Julietta gave birth to a second child, a little girl they would name Aurelie. Oh, how Lilliana adored her! She loved every eyelash and fingernail, every yawn and garbled baby noise. Contrary to any worries on the part of her parents, Lilliana not only was not jealous of the new addition, she took to being an elder sibling like a fish takes to water. Unfortunately she could not be there for every second of every moment, and as Aurelie was growing up, Lilliana was as well-- just in a completely different place.

In school, Lilliana turned out to be the answer to her parent's every dream and desire. Her academics were nothing short of outstanding and she got along brilliantly with her peers. Her childhood brattishness gave way to a vivacious and outgoing self-confidence and she blazed her way through the social scene at Brunnhold. She was unwavering, unfaltering in her faith that everything would turn out for the best (for her, at any rate). Aside from a bit of trouble with men in her late teens, Lilliana's life was without troubles she did not create for herself.

That was, until the year she graduated, when once again her world turned around because of Aurelie. Her sister was declared a passive by the examiner, and a nonentity by her parents. This did not sit well with Lilliana, who still loved her sister with a ferocity that seemed only to increase as time went on. (One might say she developed a bit of a sister complex.) There were many long, explosive fights over Julietta and Edmund's decision to give her sister over to the school. Even if she wasn't allowed to live at home, Lilliana reasoned, she could come to live with her sister and be taken care of that way. Her parents would hear none of it, not understanding why such a shining example of a galdori girl would concern herself over a scrap-- but then, they never had.

Lilliana never did set things to rights with her parents, though she did go on to build a rather brilliant career from playing with the investments of her dowry (since won and lost to various company stocks) and the design of fabulous evening wear. She became a rather vocal member of the SPE, using her charm and talent for public speaking to try and advance the cause. And so she remains.

!!!Personality

Outgoing, friendly and practically bursting with self-confidence, Lilliana is the kind of woman who is always the life of the party. Or fondly thinks of herself in that light, at least. Her self-confidence and natural leadership ability quite often translates itself into unwitting domination and a tendency towards bossiness, traits that can sometimes coax a disapproving sneer or two her peers. Disagreement means next to nothing to her, however, as she is a bit too firm in her belief that she is always right. She will hear no argument for the current treatment of passives, though only her closest friends and allies know where her zeal comes from. Truth be told, she will rarely listen to argument of any form.

Lilliana is also a risk-taker and a thrill-seeker, but as a fine patrician woman, this hunger for adrenaline has no outlet other than a somewhat unhealthy gambling addiction. Not enough to put her in the poorhouse, but more than is strictly advisable.

When it comes to her sister she is even more rigid and unyielding than usual. Were the two to ever meet again, Lilliana would want to do nothing more than lock her in an ivory tower filled with stuffed toys and shiny objects and make it so that she never cries ever again. She carries the rather skewed perception that her sister is forever a child, deserving of protection from the cruelties of the world. She maintains a very strained relationship with her parents, though is so thoroughly convinced they are in the wrong that she wouldn't even think of doing anything herself to correct this.

In spite of the outpouring of compassion she nurtures for her lost little sister, Lilliana possesses no much sympathy for any ‘low’ creatures existing outside of her own bloodline. The closeness of humans and wicks still causes her to chew her lip in disdain, as it should in any woman of good breeding. Her deep involvement in the SPE is more than a bit selfishly motivated for Aurelie’s sake alone, not for the plight of passives as a whole.


!!!Physical Description

Lilliana is short, barely brushing the mark of 5’3” if you don’t count the measure of her lovely up-dos. ‘Well-rounded’ or ‘buxom’ might be more pleasant way to describe her physique – but to those she chafes, she is merely ‘plump’.

Heavy bust and heavy hips, but not without the necessary evil of a soft belly. The delicate outward slide of her tummy is always nipped tight by fine-boned corsets, in an array of tasteful and complexion-complimentary colors. This gives her a noticeable hour-glass shape, though it’s only achieved through quite a bit of fine chrove leather and tight-lacing. She wears heavy skirts to accentuate the broad span of her hips.

She is rather vain about her appearance, believing it to be another tool at her disposal in her climb towards the top of the business food chain, so everything about her is excellently manicured. ‘The works’ as some might call it – milk baths, perfumed oils, parasols and veils of lace to guard her fair complexion from the Viendan sun. Her scarlet hair is thick to touch and cloying with the scent of sweet oils, falling in waves to her waist whenever she deigns to let it down. Her moss-colored eyes are small and bear a wily tilt beneath their long lashes and tastefully painted lids. Blistleberries stain the small, plump bud of her mouth rich red, striking against her pale skin. A soft sheen of white powder always dusts her cheeks, covering a faint smattering of freckles.

It’s easy to see that Lilliana is one of those women who would feel naked without the comforts of her lush jewelry and cool cosmetics.

!!!Goals

First and foremost, Lilliana is striving to keep the marketing of her fine evening wear going strong enough to keep her more than well-to-do. Though on the broader span of time, she wants to possibly find someone charming to marry before she gets too old to coax in anything pretty. And, of course, she’s still longing to fulfill that old, nurtured idea to purchase her sister from servitude at Brunnhold University and keep her as a petted house-servant.
