 Wimsy LeFevre
'''Name:''' Wimsy LeFevre '''Age:''' 18 '''Race:''' Wick '''Place of Origin:''' Black Hand Tribe '''Occupation:''' Jeweller/Pick-pocket
!!!Backstory
Wimsy grew up surrounded by men. Her daoa died during child birth and she grew up the youngest sibling of five brothers, each one of them despising her for taking away their mother. Having put them through the humiliation of caring for an infant, pawning her off on other mothers when at all possible, Wimsy's brothers and father quickly began tiring of having to care for the young girl at all, nevermind she was their flesh and blood. As soon as Wimsy was able to walk, she was put to work, usually distracting the unwise with an angelic smile or a tearful wail while they were being looted, and as soon as she lost that baby-faced appeal, was cast off to find her own means of earning her way. Once she was sufficiently trained in the art of theivery, her fami gave up working for themselves altogether and the task of care-taker fell solely on her.
Her brothers and father weren’t hateful or cruel so much as they just flat-out ignored Wimsy, blaming her for the death of their beloved daoa. The loss of the woman so dear to her brothers and father caused them to generally not want anything to do with Wimsy other than a laundry and meal service, not to mention handing over any earnings from pick-pocketing and various trickeries.
After 15 long years of living in the more underhanded and violent Black Hand tribe, and having no real feelings toward her fami, Wimsy made up her mind and drifted from them. She was unable to reconcile her laid-back and chummy attitude with the unpredictability of the tribe and distaste from her fami so she set out on her own. Filching a small covered cart and her kenser Morrow, she headed for the road, leaving the caravan behind without a backward glance.
On the rough, shady streets of Old Rose it’s ‘eat or be eaten’ and 18 year old Wimsy respects that, living off the meagre earnings she makes from hawking her jewellery – on mostly unwitting buyers. Being gifted with the art of sleight-of-hand and a quick get-away –skills honed from her years thieving in the Black Hand tribe- Wimsy takes the initiative with her sales, taking the ‘payments’ but always leaving a piece of jewellery in its place. She considers this fair trade since her jewellery is finely crafted and she doesn’t usually take more than she needs.
!!!Personality
A fairly brazen, outspoken chip of 18, Wimsy keeps herself out of most tight spots with a laid back attitude and easy demeanour. She believes firmly in keeping quiet if nothing good will come from speaking, however it takes a lot of strength for her to follow through with that.
Wimsy balks at false pretences which generally leads to her friends being few and far between, but once within the reaches of her trust, the young wick will always be ready with a helping arsenal for a friend in need. Betray her once however, and there is no hope for a second chance.
She is chill and non-committal, but certainly not apathetic. While she believes most adults have it coming, Wimsy will not stand idly by while a child or animal is being harmed and mona help you if she catches you sucker-punching someone. That’s not to say she is a brawler however; she will usually find a more discrete way to handle things.
Unusual in wick culture, Wimsy doesn’t mind being alone and often prefers it. This is most likely due to the indifference from her fami. She finds great solace in grooming and talking to her kenser, Morrow and often loses herself for hours in her jewellery-making.
!!!Physical Description
Being a wick-born wick, Wimsy is small at 5’2”, lithe and dark-skinned with a smattering of light freckles over the bridge of her nose. Her large eyes are a dark chocolate brown, and usually laughing. She has a wild mane of brown-almost-black hair with bright shocks of red, green and blue hidden throughout. She keeps it pulled back smoothly from her face, held back with braids of hair twisted and knotted into a rosette at the back. Her hair bursts from beneath the braids in a wild, curly mess reaching down to her waist. Had it been naturally straight and smooth, or even tameable, it would no doubt extend past her backside.
Having lived with five brothers and a father, Wimsy’s clothing is heavily influenced by traditional kov attire. She does her best with the hand-me-downs she received to fashion them into something remotely feminine though fashion has never been anywhere near her list of priorities. Her worn but sturdy suspenders hold up her brown and yellow striped shorts that were once a pair of fine striped slacks, cut and hemmed to reach her upper thigh. Tall, bright, mismatched socks reach up past her knees, one purple and tied at the top with a blue silken scarf around her leg, concealing her small, handy blade. The other leg sports two socks, layered; a red and white striped sock over a taller green and purple polka-dotted sock. Emerging from the top of the polka-dot sock are intricate, spiralling and swirling tattoos in black ink, matching the tattoos also emerging from the waist-band of her shorts up her bare abdomen. Wimsy, like many wick men wears a baggy, white button down shirt with the collar opened wide, the shirt hanging loosely off one shoulder, the other sleeve tied in place with a red scarf similar to the one on her leg. As the shirt has lost several buttons over the years it hangs open over her stomach, held back by the suspenders.
The scarves tied around her left thigh and left shoulder, coupled with the numerous piercings only in her left ear gives Wimsy a slightly off-balanced look. Her slight, nimble fingers are scarred from her crafting and laden with several rings; her neck is adorned with many necklaces and chains. Her soft black boots are haphazardly laced, but fit her like a glove, being a vital part of her quick, quiet get-aways.

!!!Goals
Wimsy has very few long-term goals in life, the main one being to stay alive in this time of turmoil. She also however, dreams of one day owning a legitimate, permanent shop open to all races in which to sell her jewellery. As part of that dream, Wimsy is constantly looking for inspiration and ideas, not to mention techniques, to further her crafting skills. She wants her jewellery to be clearly and uniquely identifiable as her own, incorporating a bit of the magic culture into her creations.

 Re: Wimsy LeFevre
welcome to the board! nice start on this character, i do love a wicky wick. the mods will take the time to review your sheet and get back to you soon. please bare with us over this xmas/new years time, a lot of us are missing in action. but we will get to it. the one thing i can see in the meantime as we review is your opening. being a new born, the task of care-taker wouldn't really fall directly onto her. maybe you could write how the task of raising a newborn on their own turned her father and siblings to hating her. then perhaps around 5-ish is when they started deligating her with all the tasks. also, a newborn needs milk. you could write how they had to beg the mothers in the tribe to feed her for the first 4 months until she started eating solids and maybe someone told them that goats milk would work too. that would probably cause them great embarassment that they had to beg for breast feeding, so that would ingrain their hatred more. just food for thought. edit that and we'll take the edit into the review as well.

 Re: Wimsy LeFevre
Sorry for the wait. Thanks for your patience! We've got a few edits we'd like to see on your sheet before you're approved.
1. With five brothers, the resentment her family seems to feel is not something unusual or disturbing, but some of her up-bringing might need a bit more explaining. Many wick tribes have a very "it takes a village" mentality when it comes to raising children—Wimsy might have been passed around between relatives' families anyway, so the responsibility of raising her would not have fallen on just her father's shoulders. It's fine if her direct family doesn't want to care for her, but if she was indeed the youngest, it would be difficult for her to actually support her family alone. Who taught her to steal? Surely there were some members of her tribe who reached out to her.
2. While we don't have a problem with Wimsy being a pickpocket in ORH, it's kind of an unrealistic stretch to be someone who barely makes ends meet and doesn't take more than they need. Leaving jewelry behind or giving things away for free or half-heartedly stealing don't realistically line up with someone who's trying to make a living. Where is Wimsy getting the money to fund her jewelry-making supplies if she's so philanthropic? Why would she give it away when she could've just stolen the money? Where does the sense of morality come from when she grew up in the Black Hand tribe around mostly thieves? Is it really better than stealing if she gives someone what they might not want or need in return for "payment" without their consent?
3. Wimsy's personality mentions friends. Where did she manage to make friends?
4. You write: "Unusual in wick culture, Wimsy doesn't mind being alone and often prefers it," but she no longer lives in "wick culture" anymore. Also, there's nothing particularly unusual about being alone for wicks; they understand that everyone needs some space now and then, especially considering it's not a crime to drift from one's tribe. Maybe saying that Wimsy is "unusually solitary" or something if it's true would be a better choice, but given they way she's been brought up, it's hardly unexpected for her to enjoy solitude.
