Junta, everyone!

I've got my character, Merry Fitzborough, sort of fleshed out (check out my char. sheet for details: http://thornsbook.com/wiki/pmwiki.php?n ... itzborough), and I was wondering if anyone would like to help me along here...

I'm trying to get Merry into smuggling for the Resistance w/out leaving the tribe (for the moment) - she wants to help in the fight against the galdori, and all she knows (at this point) is merchanting, so what better way to help than smuggle supplies?

Her parents had a place in Vienda, but since the riot and the law making wicks need a Writ of Residence to get in, they've been forced to travel elsewhere. Merry wants to help the Resistance, but in order to do so, she has to get INTO Vienda, and has no way of doing so at the moment, and isn't sure who she could tell about her dream (since it would mean ultimately leaving the Laughing Tribe).

Anybody interested in helping me start this thread?

I'd point you to Maria LaCosta, as she does some smuggling via furniture, I think, but I dunno where Steve is. I'll give him a nudge.

Yeah, Maria and I should be doing some work soon. Maybe you can drop by the shop sometime? You can help Mr. One-Arm with the heavy things?

Yeah. What they said. Maria imports and exports furniture, often laden with contraband. She's always on the lookout for new smugglers.

My NPC, Jerzy, is Laughing Sky. He's leaving on the 3rd of Loshis, but if you could catch him before then, I'd be happy to assume they know each other. He has a few contacts in the resistance because of his family so he might be able to help.

Yeah, I'd definitely be interested in the furniture smuggling, and i'd be happy to help Mr. One Arm - in reality, i'm one of the girls who's always being conned into the heavy lifting w/ the guys, so it'll work perfectly for my character.

just to let you know, Maria, Merry isn't too keen on galdori (she had a bad experience w/ a pissy shopkeeper as a child), but i'll have her shape up once she realizes just how much Maria's gone through and how much she wants to help. does that sound ok?

i'd be glad to have other contacts, Cartographette - it's always good to have 'em when going into the smuggling business, right? where is Jerzy at the moment, btw?

At the latest thread he's at the St. Grumbles party, waiting to take off with K. You're welcome to run into him before that, though.

where would you suggest that i start? to clarify, my character can't get into Vienda at this point because she doesn't have a Writ of Residence, though i'd love to sneak her in somehow to work w/ Maria.

and how should i approach Jerzy via thread? i don't want to tread on a cardinal rule and butt in on a conversation...

you know, disregard that last post. i'm slow at all of this, but i'm going to jump into the "help wanted" thread in "elsewhere" - is that ok?

I think a better thread would be the "sight is fleeting" thread, I was looking for something to happen in there. Help wanted (if I recall) was a bit personal.
