!!!Backstory:
Hallin (called Hal by most) is a twitchy fellow. He always has been, but the problem seems worst when he is around open flame. When Hal was 12, he had been playing with a candle, and in playing with fire he got burned. More than this, he burned his home down. Though born of galdor heritage, Hal was cared for mostly by humans in the last four years of his life. His parents, ashamed that they had produced a passive, they promptly had him tattooed and sent him to work with a distant relative in Brunnhold, who sent him to a friend in Vienda, who sent him to a cousin back in Old Rose.

It was in this home on the outskirts of Old Rose that he had the unfortunate accident that left him with scars, though luckily, most remain hidden. When he received his burns, the scars overtook his passive tattoo, and he was never taken to have it replaced. Hal took advantage of this and ran away, taking only the clothes on his back and enough money to eat for a week. He had the good fortune, however, to fall in as an underling with the Bad Brothers. He is usually only sent as a messenger from one branch of Old Rose to another and as a set of eyes for the band, though he hopes for more one day. He often picks pockets and, on a more honorable note, works as a delivery boy around the city.

!!!Personality:
Hal is fairly quiet. He doesn’t say much about his values or feelings on any subject, though he does feel strongly about it. His twitchy countenance leads people to believe that he is untrustworthy, but he is as faithful a boy as there ever was. He is strong in his convictions, and though slow to anger, he is even slower to forgive. Though he has never taken a life, he has beaten a few to within an inch of it. Mostly those who complain or indicate disdain for Silas Hawke, to whom he is intensely loyal. His appearance and former slave status allow him to blend into a crowd. He knows the town like the back of his hand.

!!!Description:
Though short, Hal’s lanky figure suggests a tall future. His skin is dark from walking the coastal town making deliveries, and his mop of sandy hair and brown eyes help him blend into the dusty façade of Old Rose. He wears a grey-blue linen shirt with its oversized sleeves rolled to the elbow. His brown pants stop at the knees, and his twiggy legs end in brown sandaled feet. He wears a cord around his neck and under his shirt that ends in a small sheathed blade, though he usually prefers to use his fists. His eyes are usually wide, as if he were shocked or frightened, and his lips pursed to a thin line. He has a round face, though as he ages it will square off like his father’s. His nose is crooked from a few fights, most of which he has won despite his stature. Underneath his lanky limbs is lean muscle, which he uses whenever someone has crossed a line and made him angry. His right hand and arm are scarred from his burns, and some of it can be seen on his shoulder if his shirt slides away. The scars extend under his clothing onto his back and upper chest.

The streets of Old Rose, though if he can afford it he will spend a night or two at the Black Dove Tavern.

He's a passive. Is he even allowed a spell? Not to be rude, but just observing, that is also a level two spell, and you're only allowed to start at level one. Again, no offense. Just observation.

hehe, you obviously didn't read the Passive race page on the wiki. They chose one powerful spell that can go off randomly when they're in danger. They don't have control over it. I'm not sure if it says it has to be level 2. Though level 3 might be too powerful for even a "random" spell.

For your information I DID read it, along with the rest of the wiki. I just forgot that one part. Still, I am unsure of the ability to cast level two or higher. Maybe it doesn't apply to them because it's not like they're going to go studying spells to reach level two or three.

Indeed. I had first thought of Angel being a passive and having Inferno as her "random" spell. but then I decided to go with galdori to emphasize her rebelliousness...

it says in the wiki that it's a "powerful" spell. So I'd assume it's level 3 since when it happens is at the mod's discretion.

If you CAN have level three... I would totally go with Bash's Fury, Electrical Storm, or Hulali's Wrath, as they have a good area effect, and can cause some major damage. That's just me, though.

Yea, but you also have to think "Could it hurt my friends?" If those spells went off randomly, tons of people would get hurt... and that would probably be very bad for that person when the spell wore off... considering they'd be nearly helpless...

Hehe, I suppose.... ah, the temptations of mass carnage.... destruction can be so much fun... *sigh*

plus, the mod controls when it happens <_< so... it could happen at a VERY inopportune time... so an entire building could come crashing down on top of you..

Very true, but as long as they gave you the opportunity to escape the collapsing building...

Ya, I was aiming for conflict of interests, what with him being afraid of fire, conflagration randomly going off... I don't know what I will choose if Carto makes me change it. There aren't any flame-oriented spells in level one. Grr... Even sparks, like in the spoke's almanac would be better than nothing.

Well, I certainly hope you are allowed your spell. ^^ Either way, interesting character. Need more passives. Actually, I was planning on making one soon, the final of my four character limit. I suppse that's why I haven't made him, yet. Four character limit, I wanna be absolutely sure of him before I make him official. Wouldn't want to have to kill off a character later, just to make room for a better one.

To clear things up, yes, you are allowed any spell you want. When it goes off, it will be at Level 3 strength. (all spells go up in power with each level.)

Great character sheet, Hal! I'm glad we have another passive in the game. Only one question: does Hal know what his spell is, i.e. has it gone off before?

I don't think so. When I was designing him I kind of treated it like it hadn't. So, no, I don't think so. He doesn't exactly live in fear of when the spell might go off, but I think it would deeply affect him if it did.

I have to say, well chosen considering his history with fire. It will be interesting to see how he reacts when it does go boom...
