!!!Backstory

Born to an unambitious county clerk, and a local musician; Eucephalus had a mundane childhood. His home was empty and boring, and he was raised by dull, uninspired people. To be truthful, he couldn't wait to get away to that marvelous new place, Brunnhold. Unfortunately, his Initiation Test result was a meager 4. The shame he must have felt; being a straw-haired youth of mediocre talent, he was often derided.

This boy was no fool, and by the fourth year he had inveigled a rather popular clique to accept him into their circle. Eucephalus convinced an older student from his dormitory, Bertram, that the passive servants in their building were laying traps against him. Bertram eventually felt so victimized by the imagined cruelty of these passives that he hit one in plain sight of a professor and was sternly punished. Eucephalus could barely contain his mirth as he described the pranks he played to the esteemed social group, and they found his talent at trickery to make up for his very tow-headedness.

The rest of his years at University went excellently, as he began developing a very pleasant, respectful air. This and his association with a respectable crowd made instructors look kindly on him, and he graduated with no great difficulty. Upon graduation, he was given to strange cares; realizing his lack of overall talent and fearing a boring life, he set his ambitions on something that had little to do with magic, thus a possible means to greatness. He moved to Muffey and immersed himself in the world of fashion.

He realized that any one halfway competent could write intelligently about fashion, and the best means to look respectable while wearing most of a dead bird on your head. So few toffins manage to have the barest of intellect, so his writings were locally quite popular. At a recent very fashionable dinner party, Ms. Bordereau suggested that he could organize a very delightful magazine on his writings. He thought to himself that this was a perfect idea. He would become the voice of a generation, and what better place to do it than the cultural heart of Anaxas? The idea for Glorious Muttonchops Quarterly was born; he set off immediately for Vienda.

Eucephalus has purchased a small office on an avenue near Crosstown Court. Finally having made it to Vienda, he will attempt his way to the highest echelons of society.

!!!Personality

On the surface, he is affable and polite. Talented though not notable in all pursuits that would befit a modern male, he seeks to draw attention to himself. He has a love for opulence with which Eucephalus hopes to set himself apart. To the right sorts he is very appealing; he is conversant in a variety of subjects and boring in none. Every action, every interest is a primal response to his one defining fear; of irrelevance. This makes him somewhat bound to caprice, his ideas and motivations are never steady. He lacks a real cohesive identity, and the extravagance could be a search for one.

Underneath all this, he has a certain callousness and manipulative streak. He does not empathise with others, and sees no harm in hurting them for any social gain. He is an eidolon of galdor self-interest, completely uncaring of what he does to others so long as it never harms him.

!!!Physical Description

Eucephalus is somewhat shorter than average, though the pomp with which he carries himself disguises this very well. He has carefully coifed blonde hair, and without his muttonchops he would look like an adequate toffin. However, these muttonchops are his pride and glory; the means by which he makes his living. They frame an average face and make it look positively statuesque.

One may suggest that he is slightly more than well-fed. They would have had to witness him outside his element, as Eucephalus meticulously disguises any flaw with smart dress and the proper use of girdles. His style is sumptuous and calculated to draw the eye.

Eucephalus moves with great flourishes. It is at times abrasive and distracting, but he maintains a relaxed atmosphere, so that his exaggerated style appears natural.
