 Olivie Ashby
'''Name:''' Olivie Ashby '''Age:''' 26 '''Race:''' galdori '''Place of Origin:''' Vienda
!!!Backstory:
Olivie was born into a house of death. No, none of her parents had ever killed anyone, they just prepared dead bodies for burial. Her father's family had always been undertakers, and Olivie's mother had been married into it. They were happy people, comforting the families of the deceased. Her life was easy, she just had to stay out of the way, not touch the dead bodies, hug the old crying women, and wear a pretty dress at the service. The business would be passed down to her, so her parents didn't bother sending her off to school. Her mother wouldn't have it anyways. She was far too attached to little Olivie. There was no argument over it. They simply taught her to read, write, and cast very simple spells to make running the funeral home an easy job. She had to learn like every child, and there were very many mistakes along the way. These mistakes included the accidental mutilation of a corpse. But as she grew older it became slightly easier.
At the age of sixteen her mother passed away from illness. Olivie was around death and decay her entire life, but its never the same when it is happening to you. To watch her father prepare her mother for burial made her cold to death, numb to the feeling that most would cry over. To her death was now a body sewn back together, icy, caked in layers of makeup, a frilly gown, and laying in a polished box. Flowers surrounded the body to help the perfume mask the sour smell.
After her mother's death her father became even more intent on teaching his daughter how to run the family business of making the dead look like beautiful dolls. She followed his every command, learning to stitch the body correctly, pack the eyes, accenting the coffin and corpse with certain colours.
On his deathbed, when she was at the age of twenty, he gave her his old plague mask. She sat next to him, her face showing sadness but no tears came until he begged her to marry and carry on their line of comfort for the families of those who have passed. He also noted he wanted blue flowers at his service. He died shortly after making that request.
So from then on, she worked alone at the funeral home, taking clients, comforting families, and doing all the arrangements. It wasn't very hard and she could often do more than one corpse at a time. The small amount of magic her father had taught her proved useful and polished over the next couple years. But she never used it much. Just to keep the flowers in the parlor alive or to do some simple stitching.
!!!Personality:
Olivie is a friendly person for the most part, willing to help someone who is distraught over the loss of a loved one. She is very professional with clients, but often has to put on an act. See, she is very numb to death of other people, being around it so much. When a sobbing man is sitting in front of her, she reaches out to comfort him, but she will never cry with him, this person had nothing to do with her. Though she is around decay and a sour smell of death she is a very cheerful person out of work. Often going to shop for a range of flowers for herself, to brighten her small room above the funeral home. Though rather quiet around the living, she will often sing and dance and have loud conversations with the dead.
After her father told her to marry she tried her hand at flirting with the young men that would come in to arrange a funeral for their father. This never worked out. She was awkward, and would bring up strange topics about cutting open the deceased, which of course disgusted any normal man. So after a few months of this she decided that wasn't the best idea and she would simply mind her own business, and apologize to her father later.
Olivie is not very open to many people, simply because she has nobody to be open to. She wants a friend, but getting close to a client isn't appropriate, so she tends to distance herself and let them do the talking.
!!!Physical Description: Olivie Ashby is a rather short, curved woman, with very pale skin. She stands at about 5'4, has a child bearing body she despises, and almost translucently pale skin. She tries not to go out in the sun too often, and couldn't if she wanted because she is often confined to work with a body. She puts on a bit of blush just on her cheekbones to shoo away the look of a corpse herself. Her huge supply of makeup isn't usually used on herself. A few lip colours and blush here and there, but nothing like what she puts on the dead to make them look alive. Her eyes are usually rimmed with red from late nights and busy days. Her hair is an oily black, inherited from her father. Its slightly past her shoulders when she wears it down, and when she pulls it up she leaves strands on each side to frame her face. The grey pools for eyes are more like grey clouds, very wispy and cold. Her father always said her eyes looks like death, and she shouldn't look the clients in the eye too often. Just above her lip is a small beauty mark. This is not the only one. She has several spread along her back and one on her the back of her left thigh. She adores these little black dots for no other reason than she thinks they are her only good feature.
!!!Inventory:
Weapons: *Technicaly all her knives and tools used for prepairing a body could be used as weapons.
Stuff: *A closet full of funeral gowns in blacks, greys, blues, and reds. *A full length white coat for working with corpses. *Her glasses hang on a beaded necklace around her neck when not placed on her face. *Many shelves of makeup for the bodies. *Books that are up in her room, ranging from the books her father gave her to learn beauty tips for the dead and magic to fantasy stories she reads at night.
!!!Career
Mortician (undertaker)
*Good with makeup *Not squeemish *Quiet * Hard working *Good communication (with the dead)
!!!Goals To be the undertaker for someone famous. To be buried in a red gown, surrounded by red and white flowers. To attempt to fulfill her father's dying wish of her continuing the legacy (but only if convenient).

Hi Olivie! Welcome to Thorns This is looking really good so far. A mortician, how interesting! Just one thing, would you mind formatting this sheet according to the sticky post in this forum? I can approve after that. Sorry it took so long to get back to you, by the way, it's been a busy weekend.
