Backstory:

As a child, Minke very much enjoyed her place in Surwood. She often watched her mother craft figurines for sale at the festival and, at the age of 8, began making paintings to submit in the festival alongside her mother. Minke viewed the festival as a romantic event if nothing else. Her mother and father told stories of the first time they had met. It was a charming story of moony first impressions (which resulted in a few broken figurines) and the soft spot her mother had for her father's enormous sideburns. "I swear you could have had your own colonies living in that forest of hair!" her mother would jest. "I was so embarrassed, I just wanted to dust but your mother had the most gorgeous yellow eyes, I couldn't keep myself from staring at her." her father would respond. The influence of such love had shaped Minke into a fervent and hopeful person, which sometimes got in the way when her hopes got too high or she let her emotions get the best of her.

When Minke was 12, her father picked up a job in The Stacks working as a general laborer ready to help whatever business or residence has a leaky pipe or a squeaky door. Minke was crushed when she heard the news, and was conflicted with thoughts of leaving the things and people she had come to know and love. It wouldn't be until she was 15 that Minke understood her father's reasons. Like many other parents, he wanted Minke to have better opportunities and believed that the lessons she would learn from observing other kinds of people good and bad would be ones that would inevitably give her the power to be influential in her future. "But dad, all I want to do is paint! I don't care about our government, it's all so boring." she would remember arguing; agreeing now that it was what was best. Influence wasn't solely in government. She could make a difference with her art, and planned to set up a shop or run a teaching service out of her home to help other kids who where interested in painting.

Though she has live a good 5 years in The Stacks, she has little to show for it. Friendships are few and far between with Minke, regardless of her willingness to learn and understand the people around her. She envies the galdori so greatly that she tends to put humans down to make herself seem greater. Most humans tend to stray from her and her fellow wicks are put-off by her standoffish attitude towards the people they have become close to. As a result she usually just sits back and views people from a far all the while dreaming of her own perfect love story. Her best companion is her Bander Wolf Kendra.
Personality:
Minke is known mostly for her extreme desire to observe the world around her. She is constantly trying to expand her knowledge of other cultures and the various histories of the people around her. The few friends that Minke does have describe her as a soft, empathetic person. This doesn't stop her from acting as tough to anyone outside her very minuscule circle, though. Despite her tough exterior, Minke is a hopeless romantic. She turns to mush at the sight of an old, happy couple or really any display of love between two people. Most of her paintings are focused on love but they are never shown to anyone but Kendra.
Description:
Minke's build is a rather small one. She stands at a mere 5 feet tall and weighs 115 pounds.The left side of Minke's olive colored skin is covered with tattoos. The thick, tribal design starts at her left ankle, continues to wrap around her left leg completely and travels up her ribs and neck to curve around the back of her left ear. Her left arm is also covered with design with the exception of her left hand. Her purple hair is short and choppy on the right half of her head. The left side of her head is shaved in a thick, green, swirly design similar to her tattoos. She has two green and purple braids on each side of her face in front of her ears. They are about 2 feet long and often get covered in splotches whenever she paints as they are constantly falling into her paint or against her canvas. She has a mix of her parents features. Minke has round, chocolate colored eyes. Her mother always describes them to look like "someone blew gold dust into your face" as they are slightly speckled with yellow. Minke's face is round and soft. She has a total of 4 facial piercings. Steel hoops decorates her right eyebrow and right nostril, while steel studs are like dimples in both of he cheeks. The only worthwhile jewelry Minke owns is a silver pinky ring given to her by her mother as a birthday present. If not for her braids, she would most likely be mistaken for a boy with her thin lips and lack of bust. Though she is not very curvy, Minke has very feminine hands, which is probably the only girly feature about her besides her legs.

She usually dresses herself in ragged hand-me-downs from the galdori students and human clothes. Just like her braids, her clothes are also dotted with splashes of paint. She wear boots.

Great character! I like the sort of hipsteresque vibe she has with the hair and whatnot...very cool. We need more young characters. Totally approved, baby!
