!!!Backstory:

Calli has led a pretty charmed life. Her parents have been happily married for over twenty years and she has three loving, well-adjusted sisters and one daft younger brother. She was very physical as a young child, climbing every fence, tree and upwardly projecting pile of earth she ever came across. Her parents decided to encourage her physical gifts, teaching her acrobatic moves and finding teachers to show her how to dance and sing. Calli quickly became an accomplished performer but always had trouble with tasks like reading. Calli is dyslexic but she doesn’t know it and neither does anyone else (mainly because the term does not exist within Vita). Most people presume she’s either a free spirit or a bit soft in the head.

A lifetime spent pitching in has made Calli responsible, loving and completely incapable of being ruffled. When she was fourteen she broke her collarbone in a nasty fall and instead of crying apologised to her family for making them spend money on a healer. She views the problems of the whole as more important than her own but she did let her little brother get beaten up a little once because he deserved it for stealing cake that wasn’t his. She’s spent many years babysitting out of necessity and for funds, so she avoids children like they’re the plague but is very good with them.

Calli is a dyed in the wool spoke, just like the rest of her tribe. She’s currently in Old Rose Harbour, putting on street shows for kicks and wandering the docks looking for interesting people. Part of her tribe are in the area as well, keeping an eye on her and giving her a place to say. Calli doesn’t have a caravan of her own yet but she does have a Kenser. She desperately wants a hingle as well and refuses to eat them since a traumatic childhood experience saw her Mr Bingles become an hors d’oeuvre.

Acrobatics are Calli’s forte and definitely her preferred method for showing off. Calli is a good singer with decent range but she lacks practical knowledge of her craft and it shows. She practices hard daily to try and compensate for this short-falling. As a result of her extensive acrobatic training she has a kick like a horse and she’s slippery as an eel but she has no actual combat training. Her maternal grandfather was a human and chance has made her a very weak wick. She can handle level one spells but it is unlikely that she will rise above that level, especially given her difficulties with the written word.

!!!Personality:

Calli cares about family first and foremost. She loves her siblings very much, even her little brother and she gets someone to write her parents a letter for her every month. Calli is intensely physical and gets very upset if cooped up for too long. She occasionally acts on destructive whims related to jumping off, over or across things and every success makes her a little more prone to superstition. In her mind normal people don’t survive leaping from one roof to another, so the gods must be helping her do it. She likes to meet new people but she usually doesn’t give them too much of her heart or her energy. She’s travelled too long to let herself do it and she’s always hurt when she has to leave a good friend behind. She’s not completely emotionally mature but she has a lot of insight for her age and she tries very hard to empathise with others.

!!!Physical description:

Calli is built like a gymnast. She’s fairly tall, very well muscled and very lithe. She has tan skin like the rest of her tribe and a few scars here and there from various bungled tricks. Her eyes are brown and her hair is a sunny yellow. Her hair is currently cropped short and has some blue at the ends, from an old hair colour experiment that she did not like in the least. She has an angular face that’s not entirely pretty but probably will suit her once she grows into it. She was graced from birth with an electric smile that makes her look more attractive or at least more approachable. She only ever wears close fitting or unrestrictive clothes. She never wears skirts or dresses and jewellery tends to get in the way.

!!!Career:

Calli is a travelling performer and thrill-seeker. She can sing adequately, dance very well and knows how to jump off a building without breaking any bones. She’s a fast sprinter but her long distance stride is fairly slow.

!!!Goals:

Perform, meet interesting people, learn from them and buy a hingle. Calli wants to make a name for herself and bring some light in dark times. She wants a world where everyone is equal, so she won’t be quite so weird and won’t have to keep jumping off water towers when she’s feeling upset.
